Are there any places I might pick up the odd 45 or 2, going to Toronto next week

Toronto is a great City to visit ; 

take a walk along Queen Street ; Koppels shop there then Cosmos further out of town - ain't gonna be full of bargains but good browsing. 

Few more stores in and around town too I seem to recall.

Try the larger thrift stores too, they can yield a bargain, though you need to be there on the right day.

Try the Sunday morning St. Lawrence Street market, bought LP's and a few 45's there over the years.
