I'm confused!

This what John Manships wrote about it on an auction listing:

A sought after, totally exquisite Soulful-Dance dance groove from former-Shirelles lead singer. This side for many years was considered to be possibly NOT released in the USA. Being a flipside, it could only have been acquired as the shop release STOCK copy. Which proved to be as the decades passed by, a Crossover-Grail to find, today over 40 years after it’s USA pressing, it still remains ridiculously elusive, we are not ashamed to say we have never-ever had a copy for sale.

On Discogs one was sold for £199.99 in 2016.

This isn't a rare record, is it?

Not too many copies of the US Prodigal issue have come to light so far ... so I'd say that version of the 45 is rare. US demo copies are easy to find (& cheap) as they don't feature CAN'T STOP SINGING.

Is this the same / or very similar backing to The Shirelles - let's give each other love on RCA

I would say similar but not the same

So why have I never been able to sell my copy then?  I think I'm gonna buy and sell 1970s bootlegs only from now on.  That seems to be where the big money is on ebay these days.
