'Bill F Whitten is undoubtedly best known as the fashion designer behind some of the most arresting outfits worn by Michael Jackson, the Jacksons and Stevie Wonder. During the mid-to-late '70s, he was also briefly the leading member of an eight-piece Atlantic disco outfit called Between The Two. While the band performed live around the U.S in 1977, they never released any music, despite making studio recordings of some of their songs. Here, two of those "lost songs" make it to vinyl to the first time. We're particularly enjoying the driving, celebratory, sing-along disco of A-side "Take a Little Time", though the jazzier, slower and more musically expansive love song "My Next Step" is also impressive.'
