Hi, Trying to ID a track I've known for some time but can't place it now on a search after hearing again at the weekend. It's a Rare Groove / Two Step which I believe to be called 'Free' by Mellea or a similar sounding group name. I thought a 45, possible LP only. Don't believe it's been re-issued or on a compilation anywhere. Thanks.

  • It was also bootlegged on a 12 which is an extended version https://www.discogs.com/master/view/1253561 I have the 7 and 12 and they both sound good, the 12 should be pretty cheap to pick up

Many thanks Alan, tried everything bar the double 'a' at the end!

I have the boot 12" and can confirm the timing of Mellaa is 5.38 and excellent sound quality. Whilst on the subject of Lanier & Co who feature on the flip of the boot, there is a good funk/boogie Lanier & Co track on a 45 B side from 1982 on Larc that is NOT on either of their LP's:
