Custom in Germany from the USA

Sorry people need to ask this, so fellow Germans please advise :hatsoff2:

What's the situation with customs when ordering from the USA? A snowboard is being made for me in the States and i have an option of sending ti my friend in Hamburg, and he can bring it here at my place.

Any help much appreciated.

Don't know, but maybe check the site from the Deutsche Post as it should work and be calculated differently than from every country within Europe but still likely over expensive I would guess.
