Just trawling through a few boxes of Magazines and came across this from 1998. A 3 page spread on the 25th anniversary of Wigan and I found this description quite funny and true.

" Enter the Casino, A basic no thrills dance hall that had sen better days. No flashing lights, no glitter ball, no dress codes, no pop music - and as the Sunday Times memorably noted - chicken in the basket was NOT a speciality! 🙂

Andy. My then boss brought me in his copy of the Lancashire life when it featured that article.  Still got it somehow myself mate

There's a piece on the Golden eagles of the Lake District that also makes interseting reading 🙂
