Out and about in the Charity shops of Alcester  Warwickshire , 

today and came across this song sheet , A very well known pop record from the late fifties and I know it's common knowledge by now , that Johnny Bragg wrote it  ,but how many other chart toppers written by Northern Soul artists , anybody ?

How about “The only way is up”, co- written by George Jackson, or Gonzalez “Haven’t stopped dancing yet”, co- written by Gloria Jones?

Bettye Swann  topped the U.S. Soul Charts in the Summer of '67 - 

 

Prolific writer and of course a damn good singer too , she also wrote Hank Jacobs , Elijah Rockin With Soul ,  not sure if that charted ? But should have 

Mr. "Do I Love You (Indeed I Do)" co-wrote and co-produced this song which topped the U.S. Pop and R & B Charts -
