From what I remember reading a while ago I think that not. But for the buyer's sake could someone with such experience enlighten us and put him out of his misery ?

           You state in members profile you are in Belgium ,so you are buying from the uk correct. ? Like me in Spain you are subject to EU rules ,the Uk left the Club in January 2021, This is how it works .You buy a £5 or £50 record From non EU ,UK } on discogs they add 21 % on the total invoice at purchase, including the postage figure { 21 % the rate for Spain or Belgium?} the British  seller declares a lower ,Correct , higher value  ,a Gift even! on the CN 22 form it is shipped to eu Country with seller paying postage at the uk rates. Now the fun starts it arrives at Customs at Spain or Belgium , the import duty starts at around £6 { there is a scale of limits but customs ignore this and your declared value, and  pick  a  Figure out of the air ]  .

I  have complained to the spanish Correos { Post office } The answer all, packages have to be checked now  Smuggling ,etc there is no free movement it takes time and money. Since my complaint I have   had a  pack of 15 paper repro 7 inch  sleeves from Big boppa records ,correct declared value o£15, held in customs at  Barajjas Airport Madrid for 4 weeks demanding ,proof of purchase ,Paypal Visa receipts ,Sellers name ,manufactures name ,and a copy of my EU residencia Card to check if they are for Business, /Education or pleasure!

I am not at a moaning Killjoy maybe just unlucky ., and maybe some parcels will get Through at correct valuation and shorter Admin times . I  feel ,great empathy for small business,s in uk ,{Boris never Told us about this!!}

No they won’t . I have lots of stuff, vinyl and valuable art prints posted from Europe and USA with low value of £5 on them and it’s below the limit for customs duty. 
 

mind you, the buyer should remember that he agrees with seller to do that then it’s kind of at the buyers risk if anything goes wrong in the post. Not always ideal for expensive purchases but for the cheaper stuff (up to 100 in my case) I believe it’s worth the risk to me. Because if you post with a low value on it you cannot insure it for its true value so if it’s lost or damaged you would only be able to claim the value you put on it. 
 

Normally, as a buyer I have to agree that with the seller / sender.

Hi John yes I'm in Belgium. With this OP I was asking openly to reassure a worried UK buyer as he wouldn't take extra costs to retrieve it from his mail man. Now he's reassured some. All good there.

Well discogs service has seriously worsen since Covid and it's restrictions. Apparently with the purchases online they grew up and now their customer/seller service is like that of any administration : Crap.

Merely a help desk with incompetant cheap "punching ball" labor repeating pre-formated answers for any situation. But only never understanding what they're talking about while thinking they know it all.

Only not at all. A bit like the spoiled brat (AKA the Boris) had at the head of that nation thinking that Brexit was the new "cool" without looking further what it'll bring with it all. Only not "cool". And am not pro-EU !

On the contrary. Now on discogs I've shared dreadfull issues with outside EU sellers since with their pre-charged %21 Import VAT that with the Belgium Customs and Postal services just don't work.

With few sellers losing little or more money in that. Others challenging their trust with EU buyers and hopefully few enlighten ones with discogs now. With whom I deal directly with since for cleaner business.

discogs is about to just get worse than the EvilBay in some regards. Evidently Belgium is once again the worse country applying that "newly" implemented EU tax import regulation sucking on people's money.

In Belgium Import duties are now due starting at €0,01 value. Not €22 anymore. If mark ask 'gift' maybe not... That's vague to say the least. Then if Import VAT is applicable handling fees are too. Beginning at €15 !!!

Only those MEGA internet seller's site with an IOSS number and capable to transfer the prepaid Import duties datas through the ITMATT system to the Belgium Post won't be subject to the VAT Customs all over again.

Meaning the others will. Like EvilBay sellers able to use the previously hated (by me at least) Pitney Bowes shipping service will have access to that service. Others not ! EU Institution regulations & Company...
