Apologies if this has been raised before, but does anybody know if Robert Walker (The Blizzard/ Stick to me) RCA was the Motown Robert Walker ( Staunton & Walker) ?

Thanks Andy.

The Staunton - Walker team ( with Jones and Dobyne)  seem to disappear after Motown (65 ish)....unless somebody knows anything of their career after Motown. I know Robert Dobyne had later 45s

I've messed up .. defective reading skills .. humble pie being eaten as I type

Robert Simon Staunton

Robert G Walker

So it might be the same guy

Last contact details I had for Staunton he was living in L.A. .. but never managed to 'catch' him

I'll dig some more

I read a post on youtube linked to a Robert Walker track...The Blizzard I think.

The poster claimed to be the composer on the track, and talks of travelling from Detroit to New York, recording the track with musicians "live"....and not done the Motown way .....ie multi tracked . So the Detroit connection may refer to the same Robert Walker.

I'll try to find it again.

The guy is called Flery Robertson and he states he was asked to play piano for the S-W team.

He says Staunton went to LA...and he worked with Walker. So the RCA Walker does indeed appear to be Motown's S-W.

Both have Motown connections.

Interesting info and great picture👍.  Also as most will know, "Stick To Me" Robert Walker was a popular play on the nighter circuit back in the early to mid 70's. Richard Searling included it on his 1976 RCA L.P. Jumping At The Go Go.
