West coast I believe, and ran between 1961 - 1966.

Other designs:

c.1951 - 1958 - dark blue label with CHESS (and chess piece) logo on top.

1958 - c.1962 - dark blue label with CHESS printed vertically down the side.

c.1963 - 1966 - black label with coloured CHESS logo (and chess piece) on top.

1966 - mid-70s - sky blue blending to white, with CHESS in red lettering at top.

Hope this helps.

Wasn't that the early 70s design? And used for a series of reissues?

that what i was thinking pressed with same number as the original

No - they were genuine West Coast issues which coincided with the Chicago releases. Most, if not all, have correct Delta matrices defining month/year of release. Some Northern 45s were pressed in both formats, including 'The Tingle' by Jackie Weaver (believed to be 1961) and 'A Whole New Plan' by Jo Ann Garrett (1966).

Never seen a Valentinos on a West Coast issue.............now that would be rather nice to look at.

thank for that Gene :)

never seen the tingle on black chess

No probs mate.

Actually, it's more likely that "The Tingle" would have also come out on a dark blue label with CHESS printed down the left side (rather than a black label), given that sources point to it being a '61 release.
