love them dont think thier is a connection with the sheppards, just got lend me a hand for a very reasonable price[old guy spin from stafford etc]essentially their were a GOSDSPELL group, the flip of lend me a hand is out and out godspell.Interesting their got on checker who at the time were promoting variuos godspell acts ie faithful wonders etc.

BAZ A

Cheers Baz - pretty sure you're right, don't think there is a connection with The Shepherds of Stubborn Heart fame. Checker put out an LP called "Sunday Gospel Open House" which had Lend Me A Hand and a few other dance-able gospel tracks. Out of interest, what is the B side of Lend Me A Hand?

CHECKER 5038 - Kindly Shepherds - Lend Me Your Hand / He'll Be Waiting For Me

The entire Checker 5000 series is gospel.

Some really great stuff amongst those releases!

Love the Kindly Shepherds track. Anyone got a soundfile of Salem Travellers - Give Me Me Liberty Or Death from the Checker Gospel series?
