The One~Derful Admirations Much of what we know of the group is “out there” but scattered across the internet.  I decided to pull together what we know into one article about the group.

Great article thanks Chalky. I was lucky enough to get quite a few of the Mar-V-Lus and One-derful releases in a soul pack, very probably one of Soul Bowls, though I don't remember now. The Admiration

What a fascinating article! Thank you so much! As you mentioned, there are tidbits about this band scattered all over the internet and various forums, but it's wonderful to see them all gathered in on

You took back in time there, yes those Sowl Bowl packs were great for finding lesser known gems and new artists, labels etc. to keep a look out for. I think, if memory serves me well, I got the groups

Great article thanks Chalky. I was lucky enough to get quite a few of the Mar-V-Lus and One-derful releases in a soul pack, very probably one of Soul Bowls, though I don't remember now. The Admirations and Young Folk 45s were some of the best of the bunch.

I had another stroke of luck some years later when I had time to browse a music store in an airport in Scotland (I think it was Edinburgh, could have been Glasgow), and found an offer on CDs at 3 for £12. I picked up the 3 Charly releases covering Mar-V-Lus, One-derful and m-pac! as in the photo:

I think, if memory serves me well, I got the groups Paree 45 from Bob and Barrys list in the early 70's for peanuts, purely based on the One-Derful stuff that I had picked up.
