Masters of Soul – Love loves love – Capitol 2255 M- £85
(Let’s assume that this release in the same year on the national label was a result of success on Ovide. Classic Soul dancer. Drill hole. Dusty, will give it anothger clean)
Mill Evans – Got to have your love – Constellation 170 Ex+ £30
(Another class track on this awesome label, super soulful delivery, a catchy dancer, not many beat this free-flowing style of Northern, in the mould of Bobby Garrett - My little girl, Johnny Wyatt - This thing called love, Shep - Fool to fool)
Pacestters – Lovin’ / I can handle it – Fantasy 779 Promo M- £100
(Great mid-70s double sider, with names like Harvey Fuqua and Bob Crewe playing a splendid part. Hardly see any around, and this is the Promo not DJ copy. Gone for 150+ on DISCOGs recently)
Lyrics – So glad / My son – GNP Crescendo 381 WD Ex £85
(Pair of mid-tempo male group dancers from Hollywood’s famous Gold Star studio, nice in demo format. Tiny stain on spindle hole edge)
Jato Vondel – Having a good time – Gregory 5550 M- £30
(Just like the title says, and upbeat somewhat sweet vocal dancer, championed by Jordi Ripolles. Dish, DNAP. Very dusty, will give it another clean)
Candy & Kisses – Out in the streets again / Sweet and lovey – Scepter 12125 M- £30
(Cracking big city girl group double sider, combining a catchy up-tempo dancer flipped with a femme beat ballad. Labels wrong way round. Misspelt title on ‘lovely’ side. Drill hole)
Barrett Strong – I better run / Make up your mind – Tollie 9023 WD M- £60
(Superb double sider, takes me back to when I first heard them on the Charly LPs. ‘Better run’ has a superb Latin bongo feel to it)
Little Anthony & imperials – Better use your head – Veep 1278 M- £60
(Teddy Randazzo magic, simply Iconic)
Five Stairsteps – Don’t waste your time – Windy C 601 Ex £25
(Wonderful lilting Soul cover of the elusive and brilliant Shamettes Gold Dust outing. Just picked up a long sought after demo otherwise I wouldn’t let this go)
