Posted May 2, 200718 yr Listening to those great mixes of M.O.U. and W.I.T.W. put me in mind of a few I've done over the years - I should still have them around somewhere. I did re-edits/mixes of Ivan Neville 'DYBA', Flame n King's 'OHD', Willi J & Co's 'BWYB' amongst others. I used to play them at our OHS do's and about. They may be a little too much for some but I tried to keep 'em in keeping mostly and true to themselves. I'll have a dig and post 'em.
May 2, 200718 yr Hi Barry Look forward to hearing them. Think the idea of dj re-edit's is great - been working on some myself with a couple of mates. I like alot of the re-edits Al Kent does for million dollar disco. (of old northern disco things). Some great ones on his mixes on his site. Plus been listening to some old Ron Hardy mixes and they are just unbelievable (but unfortunatly not that relevant to the NS/Modern Scenes). I know some of purists might not like it but it's about enjoyment and making that tune work better in the club. Cheers Phil Edited May 2, 200718 yr by grumpyfella

The Flame n King I had to completely re-work as it was from an accapella, the Ivan Neville is about 7 minutes long and I suppose to the untrained ear sounds pretty similar but we spent about a week and a half building chords etc, it is a fairly large re-working in some respects, the Willi J & Co was difficult as we were trying to sample a section but a snare was in the way, so we got about three bass players in and here's just two of the comments from them 'Whoever played that bassline had seven fingers' - 'He must have had a nine inch middle finger haha. I'll find 'em.
