are the SOS yellow one real ones or legit re-issues?

My understanding was Richard Searling had the only copy on a acetate when played at the Casino, I'm probably wrong so please someone put me right.

Whatever the story is its one hell of a tune that just doesn't get played anymore.

I thought all SOS we legit, ie had royalties going to where they should go.

Agreed, it is a tune and a half.

Quite. The name of the production company is just one of the things that I've always thought make this record look odd. Maybe there's some well-known story to this, but was this record definitely manufactured in the same decade it was recorded? Every copy I've seen always looks suspiciously new. They lack what I think the Antiques Roadshow call "painta".

It was also one of those one pound fifty, as many as you like, numbers from Soul Stop: but there again so were the Friendly People and Wade Flemons!

Oops, I meant "patina". Not "painta", which is what they call a container of milk in Ipswich.

Was covered up as "The Supurlatives" by Richard Searling. I first heard it at an all-dayer at Newcastle under Lyme Tiffs around 79/80 ? Also he first aired "The Volcanos" (Cashmeres) and "Williams and Watson" (Nobody Ever Said......) and a few thers I can"t remember off hand (I wrote then down on the sleeve of a 45 I"d just bought !! ) but there were a good few played to a small but enthousiastic crowd. Remember him starting his spot with the line "Got some nice new ones for you today !"
