Now I know nothing about 12" singles and I don't know if any of these are worth anything but I'd be pretty surprised if the Gil Scot Heron one wasn't worth sommat - anyway if anyone's interested just make me an offer, don't take the p*ss though if they really are worth something

all are unplayed mint - all are UK pressings

BURUNDI STEVENSON BLACK - BURUNDI BLACK - BARCLAY BART 708 12"

BOBBY WOMACK - I CAN UNDERSTAND IT / HARRY HIPPIE - UNITED ARTISTS UP 36462 12"

(how come two tracks from 1972 make it onto 12"?)

AZYMUTH - JAZZ CARNIVAL - MRC 101 MILESTONE 12"

LENNY WILLIAMS - YOU GOT ME RUNNING - ABC 4228 12"

GIL SCOTT HERON & BRIAN JACKSON - THE BOTTLE - ARISTA 12 169 12"

Pete,

these are the realistic values of the 12s

Bobby Womack £5/ £7 is what I got on ebay last year.

Azymuth £4/5 more if an demo copy.

Lenny Willliams £5/ 6

Gil scott Heron upwards of £10 maybe £15 if lucky. But , as weve all said prices seem to be diminishing so halve those prices if you need a quick sale......

Thanks for your help Glyn :D problem was, there was a box with about 150 of them, all new/unplayed, but I had no idea what most of them were!

Nick the Record who's primarily a disco 12" dealer sells that Lenny Williams 12" for £15-£20. The loop in it was in an early house record by soulution on Legal records so I think there's a bit of demand on that scene for it.

See I didn't even know there was a market for 12" disco records! Seriously. If there is, I'll go back and buy the rest - they were all 50p each, old shop stock been in storage for years.

cheers

Unfortunately for my wallet there is :D

Seriously some of those disco things can be worth money, although as with the soul stuff the big guns tend to be imports (for example you'd be looking at £100+ for the canadian 12" of Gladys Knight "it's better than a good time").

I'll pm you Nick's website address. Oh and if it's there you should pick up the UK 12" only version of Ashford and Simpson "Bourgie bourgie". You should get £25+ for it on Ebay.

Also might be worth you contacting Girth Devon on here. He know's all that jazz funk and disco stuff.

Stumbled on a box of 12" stuff a few weeks ago & there was a copy of Bourgie Bourgie mixed in with a few other nice bits.

Cost me 40p each so was well pleased.

If I was selling it though i'd be looking for more than £25.

Have a look here on popsike.

Thing you really want to look for by Asford & Simpson is the 12" of One More Try.

Seen e'm fetch £300+

Like cardsharpy says Pete, get e'm bought.

whats the " bourgie bourgie " worth on a 7" ??

Nothing.

The 12" is collectable because it's a B side, and didn't get a US 12" release. However, the majority of them have pressing faults, and this makes the decent copies all the more desirable.
