Mickey Shorr & The Cutups - "Dr Ben Basey" b/w Cutups with Stinewey Sam - "Roaring 20's rag" (TUBA 8001)

Written by Shorr & Goodman - Produced by Shorr & Goodman

We think this is the Detroit Tuba label as it's the same design as Dee Edwards "You say that you love me"

Any Info on Mickey Shorr & The Cutups would be appreciated.

There was some instrumental/jazz tracks released on the label (somebody Lyttle springs to mind, with a track called 'The Snapper') so it could well be in that mould.

No the record is a cutup of snips of 60's records - if you know Captain Zap & The Motortown Cutups - "Loony Landings" on Motown you get the idea.

it is the same tuba, though, yes. novelty record. tuba released soul, jazz, folk, gospel, pop, and this one.

mickey shorr was a detroit record/audio retailer whose business was next door to the tuba/music merchants office for a time. hey may have been a radio dj too.
