I used to co-promote a monthly soul night a few years ago so i know the work and effort that goes into getting a night off the ground and then keeping it worthwhile,
Thing is our night was always the end of the month, which was fine until December, when it seems it is ok for events that have already had a December night (where they could quite easily have doubled it up as a xmas party) to put a second night on under the guise of a 'Xmas bash', thus seriously affecting the 'bread and butter nights' in the same area,
As i am no longer involved in any such events, this is not directed at any particular nights on either side of the fence, just a general observation,
Don't know if this has been touched on before,
