Was wondering if any of you have a view on the below acetate recently sold on ebay.

In all the years i've been collecting i've never come across a shrine recording on a 10" acetate. I've seen many edgewood etc but never a 10" linked to Shrine and with the label being this bad i wonder.

It went to a german collector i believe and if its the real deal then what a bargain at £700!

I put a bid in but nowhere near the £700, partly because I wasn't certain about it, others obviously though different, just hope it's real otherwise it's a lot of cash for for an acetate that you could get cut yourself for £20.

Looks well risky. Seems like the label has been ripped off - why would anyone do that? Also why was the B side badly scratched and gouged? Could it be that it was cut with a quite different artist on the B side and by gouging it would ensure that the B side was unplayable and therefore unrecognisable. Maybe totally wrong, just my sceptical mind when I see such items.

Brian

Yes I've had another that I borrowed from Dave Withers who had it from Max Kidd I think. There were about 8 tracks on it. I think that too was the Counts but can't remember. One track was OK Northern but not great.

I lent it Tim Brown to record and then sent it back to Dave.
