After my start in the scene around '76-'79, I got into scooters and then scooter racing .. with that I lost contact with a whole bunch of great friends. After being contacted by an old [scooterboy] friend who had just published a book, I started to remember all those good times on the scene and figured I'd might as well try to see if I can find out what happened to a few of my old [old] soulmates.

Stupid me never kept old address books and I never had many photos; all I have are a few names and some great memories .. so if any of the names trigger any memories from you, it would be great if you'd let me know. Personally I used to live in Surrey and travel north with the crew/coach from Aldershot area (to Wigan, St.Ives, Yately, Wakefield).

So here goes:

• Liz and Brenda from Huddersfield (reminded me of Laverne and Shirley! and they always traveled together) .. got me to go to Scarborough one Easter (that was my downfall!)

Yes that's pretty crummy info .. but someone might remember something based on the timing ('76-'79)?

I remember you from the Aldershot days (I used to live in Winchester).

You should take a trip over to one of Derek's Bisley events and see all the old crowd - many still dragging themselves onto the dance floor too!

Bisley huh .. my very first 'nighter! To bad its so far (I now live in Massachusetts, USA).

I remember Derek well .. seems I'm so grey on others though! Hold some other names are coming back: Kevin, Mark (RIP), Ray & Ann (Kingston?), Elaine, Ian & Jasmin (Weybridge) .. care to prompt me with any more?

Good God, I went out with her for a while.

Her parents were teachers if memory serves,

needless to say they were not keen when they

say the state of me on Sunday afternoons,

relationship didnt last too long.

She once borrowed some tunes and when I got them

back she had scratched her name in the run out groove.

No idea were she is now though.

Hi Dave, don't know if you remember me but here goes. I was one of the girls from Huddersfield, we were Liz, Brenda, Angela, Cheryl, Wendy and Deborah. You gave us all a Martha Reeves album, and believe it or not I still have mine. I still go to the occassional soul do, just been to the Blackpool weekender.
