In October my ex wife died at Papworth Hospital, Cambs. She'd had a double lung transplant but sadly due to post op infections she didn't get the second chance we'd all hoped for. On 25th January I've organised an All-Dayer at The Fairways Club in Welwyn. This is a free event but I'm looking for raffle prizes & auction items so as to raise money for the British Lung Foundation. Donations have already been recieved/promised from Pete Smith, Sean Chapman, Toby & wigan-casino.co.uk. More details of this event are in Events Talk.

Well actually thats not strictly true, my Mom & Dad bought me a mailbox (too small for records) for what reason I do not know as I already have a perfectly good one, it was probably because it was half price, anyway I gave it them back and told them to spend the money on themselves...

On the subject of parents, my Dad rung yesterday morning to say he'd won £1/4 million on the thunderball, he wanted to give us 50k because he knows we've had a bit of a struggle this last year. I told him to double check his ticket........He rung back 10 minutes later to say he'd actualy won 40 quid.

A great response so far. Among other things, we have for auction a weekend in a luxury appartment in the Lake District & a mint copy of the Chris Myers 45 Fire Burns / Sweetest Greatest Guy. If anyone else can help out please get in touch.

Ive only just seen this thread. Im very sorry for your loss and hope christmas wasnt too painful for you.. a poiniant time for anyone who has lost someone close. x
