Was rumoured to be Laurel Aitken

Was rumoured to be Laurel Aitken

thanks Pete

The voice is too young to have been Laurel Aitken, though as it's a Laurel production, he may have got Tiger (not the Dancehall artist of more recent vintage) to sound like him.

The late brother Aitken did tell me, many decades ago, that it wasn't him but I wasn't sufficiently interested in the record to actually bother to take a note of what the guy's real name was!

I'm sure that some of the other Tiger records on New Beat do feature 'Lorenzo', though. I'm pretty positive that the great "Soul Of Africa" is him (although he denied that, too...)

That's one of the "other tunes I have" credited to Tiger.

I'll dig that one out for a listen wink.gif

Best wishes for the New Year, Tony - thanks for all your sage info.
