There's no denial in the article, the only mention is as about the term, maybe you are talking about another article? Plus am not really sure why you are replying to me as if I had made any claims/statements, I simply quoted Dave Godin words on the term to point out the difference. where does it say that? the only reference to pillheads I see is the below, where its about him using (or not) the term 'pillheads' rather than their actual existence 'FUNNY though how some people mistake what they read someplace else for what they read in my column I was hurt when someone said that I had written (and you can search my every published word and you'll not find it) such insensitive and unfeeling prose as to ever refer to a fellow human being as a "pillhead" Certainly I'll take the can back for what I do write, but that sort of jargon (and all the bigotry of attitude that goes with it)just isn't me.

think the main q was about individual news items such as the recent 'Harvey Scales' release rather than the all in 'new release' topic, but a good point on the 'people we know' thing the actual 'news article' is the main vehicle for news, it allows a more deliberate format and does get more exposure/views than the foum 'announce' topic maybe the way ahead is to actually seperate the news items more from the forum, as in just have the one announce comment, and use the news item soley for the comments?
