Sleepless Nights Newsletter Dec 04 Dublin Northern Soul
Yo ho ho folks. well what a week that was. Our christmas party was looming and one slight technical hitch.....emm we didnt have a venue..... Id had a bad feeling on the eve and decided to check with the Gingerman and finally yes they confirmed we didnt have a confirmed booking. Call it bad luck, stress, problem of not having a permanent home or me just being a complete ^osser panic stations.... what will i tell John D and all. All roads led to freakoutville then I rang Doyles to see if upstairs was anyway ready yet. "No but weve just bought pub next door, can let you have their function room" And so it was the faithful trundled into yet another temporary venue albeit right next door to our "home". A packed location, typical Dublin party mood we got on with it. Got home soberish, forgot keys, Donna at relatives i decided best i broke a window. Long story... And on a rare weekend with two nights of soul we had a charity night in the Commercial Rowing Club SN + McScoots. Early on it was Scooter sounds gratiously making way for the Northern. Great to see Paul Mulholland&Paul Grant in the mainroom and some dinosaurs making their way upstairs to the modern sounds of Ross, Joe, Brian&more... this was a feel good night with no barriers. Soul Media Gallery
as said idea being - easier for both uploader and user, sounds/posts dont get swamped/lost and so on cheers mike
-
Soul Media Gallery
Part of the gallery now has a soul media section This section makes it possible for all members to listen, watch and share soul videos and sounds as well as normal images etc While mp3 is recommended format it also accepts mov, wma, wmv, swf, rm and mpeg and hopefully works fine cross browser The structure is up and working and discussion/comments can be posted as per forum style, along with rating, ecards and all that sort of thing Content wise have/am uploadin some tracks from the archives inc radio, 6 pac sessions, live recordings, video clips to give it a workout Bit bare and "from past"for now, however time allowing will be improving Idea being that this section be the place for all members to upload, listen and discuss sounds etc, Works better than posting in the forum, as easier to find, doesnt get sweamped, easier to upload, accepts more formats etc etc So ask instead of uploading in the actual forum could all members from now use the media section to upload sounds, vids etc etc If any suggestions for categorys etc etc please throw them up Link to Soul Media Section as said over next week or so content will be dug out, transfered, and fresh stuff uploaded, once cracked the old sound section will go

Highs & Lows Of 2004
Posted comment as thats what I thought Apoligies for tone and lack of structure, but find this knocking very tiresome nowadays There are many djs and promoters members on here, from all levels and backgrounds. Sure if got criticism about any dj or soul related matter post it up, but posts like "big boys" wont play my fav record cause its not rare, all smacks of the playground to me
