  8. Now don't laugh! 'When we get there' Paul Anka - RCA Not so much prized but when I first got back into the scene a couple of years ago this was a really popular tune at the Ritz and Belle Vue in 1977/78. I considered buying a copy on a bus from Wigan (trains packed up again) for #100. Just brings back good memories!

Thanks chaps. I agree quality dance records are important whether they be rare or not. An example would be 'Dont waste your time' Shamettes or Five Stairsteps? Its the record IMO. It is amazing when you look at Butch's playlist how many 'cover up' records are on it. Will they ever run out? What will be 'cover up's' in the next five years? Cheers DWMick

As I have said in previous posts coming back to the scene and visiting a local soul venue where I tend to hear and dance to the majority of records I remember from the seventies. As I have not yet persuaded my wife to hit the allnighters or major weekenders I would be interested to know what are the current floor fillers. I have seen the current DJ playlists on 'Soulful Kinda Music' but do these rare records fill the floors? IYO's what are your fav dance tunes?
  16. Old sounds ? New sounds? As I mentioned earlier, when you come back to the scene although I remember some of the sounds my new are probably your old. I was always a dancer and although my knees are not what they used to be if it moves me I'll dance! D W Mick

  23. Deanne, interesting comments but you must remember us forty somethings who have returned to the scene from the late seventies early eighties. There is some very knowledgeable people out there who I ask probably stupid questions from time to time but sometimes at venues the popular stuff from that era is necessary to remember those heady days. I will not be the only one and with a good mixture played new sounds are keeping me interested. These are oldies for me but some may like the crossover style. I certainly agree with you NO DRINKING ON THE FLOOR! Mike
  24. JUST FOR INFO FOUND IT ON A CD AT BEATIN' RHYTHM,MCR. 'DETROIT DYNAMITE' - MAPLE ST RECORDS. CHEERS
