  1. ooops wrong record. Sorry mate.
  2. PM sent.
  3. They work, if people click on them.
  4. After he dropped you off did Les just drive around in his van ??
  5. My post was more about Dave Godin saying that the majority would suffer due to the behavior of a few. I'm quite sure Dave Godin knew full well that is wasn't only a few that, shall we say, "indulged" at The Wheel. You only have to read one of his articles in Blues & Soul, about when he visited The Wheel, to know that he was perfectly well aware of what was going on.
  6. The "irresponsible behavior of the few", the few must just have been ALL the lads/lasses I knew who went from Bradford/Halifax/Keighley then
  7. You can use discogs, the good bit is that many will already be listed so you wont have to type them all out. You just add them to "your" collection. They don't go up for sale unless you actually want them to.
  8. or ? Give Julian Bentley a ring as he has extensive experience of the phenomena you describe.
  9. Which is precisely why I'm not the top DJ in the country Edit. Actually the wife says I'm not even the top DJ in our house
  10. Have a look on my Discogs pages. https://www.discogs.com/sell/list?sort=price%2Cdesc&limit=100&q=kevinscho&genre=Funk+%2F+Soul Thanks for looking
  11. Al Green Lets Stay Together would have been a monster crossover sound. Gladys Knight I've Got To Use My Imagination.
  12. This is the sort of shit that Pete Tildsley, and Brian Lear used to dream up on the services in a morning !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I don't think we're in Nottingham anymore.
  13. I nominate Maslar.

Same here with the phone calls etc. Must say i didn't know he had connections with Paul & Gerry at Bostocks in Bradford. So in addition to all the good stuff that we got off Bradford market, there were tons more that ended up at Soul Bowl. It would be interesting to know how that deal came about.
  15. There seems to be a bit of a buzz going on with this. Whats the current price on it please.

Just going on these two sound clips. 7" and it sounds the same as my 12" Album Is it me or is it just mixed differently ?
  17. Really ?, I've had a few demos (still have one) all were styrene.

Which version ? Be careful, i think the album version is different to the 12/7" version.

I agree, boatloads of copies on Bradford Market.
  20. Prior to Wigan I would say the scene was tiny. I would hazard a guess that there was less than a couple of thousand regular all nighter attendees. Virtually everybody knew everybody, maybe not directly but through mutual friends etc. You have to remember the venues were much smaller back then, the Torch would be rammed with 800 in there, most of the other venues would have been lucky to hold half that, apart from maybe the Mecca.

Ok sorry mate, think I got a bit wound up by a gold coloured glove puppet trying to shove his hand up everybody else's arse.
  23. Kegsy replied to hullsoul's post in a topic in All About the SOUL
Are you serious this was played long before you were even old enough to play with your dick. It may have been played at the Wheel.

Another one off the original list that was played at the Torch 72/73 was Marjorie Black One More Hurt.
