The Tempest

When I first started attending the scene in the early 80's in Scotland this record was huge and still is to this day BUT , only in Scotland and more importantly on the East Coast , Aberdeen , Dundee and Edinburgh ............................. After 25 yrs I am still to hear it down south , any plays in England / dancefloor reaction ????????????????

Just been listening to a live Wigan tape , mid 70's , and this record got hammered , heard it a few times at oldies nights in the 80's , but not since then , does it still get played and what's the dancefloor reaction , is it single only or included on an album somewhere ???

It's a rare un mate , usually goes for £300 + , keep your eyes peeled on evil bay , it turns up occassionally , good luck

I have seen this listed anywhere between £50 - £100 !!!!!

Picked up a copy, arrived today , same one in pick , original in stereo for £20.00 including delivery !!!!!! Managed to track it down in an old jazz shop in Germany , the guy clearly had'nt done his homework . There are still bargains out there if you search hard enough !!!!!!!!!!!

I've had a few over the years , this was the most recent , found in mint condition in a local charity shop , bought for a quid !! , sold a week later for nearly three figures !!!

First heard the track at Stafford also , it's a take on an old blues tune by Howlin Wolf - How Many More Years , which was one of his signature tunes . As for the artist Guitar Ray , no idea , but anybody who can come up with the immortal line " Goin down in the cellar , gonna gather up all my clothes " !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Get's my vote , a great track

As far as I know , NO ! , picked up the album for less than a tenner a few months back , ridiculously cheap , always reminds me of my last year at Stafford , brill

My mates big brother stopped going after 10 yrs solid on the original mod / twisted wheel scene , got married / kids , did the torch , Wigan from day one religiously , in his eyes , the scene died !!! and he went to australia and never looked back !!!!!!!! Lots of his live nighter tapes from early wigan/ sounds are so good and ahead of their time before the " pop " set in, Funny nowadays because of the Australian Weekenders , which are a great success downunder , he just ain't interested ! Moral of the story : I ended up with his entire collection of original scooter badges / soul patches / tapes /records in the early 80's
