One of those originals, I got through the post only a couple of days ago, Billy Butler's - Nevertheless on Okeh from a very nice man in Market Harboro'.

Repro's & Re - Issues.. Who Gets The Money?
My first post was to say that if a private seller or even record dealer sells on Ebay a (new) bootleg or a (secondhand) original, then the seller will not part with any royalties. However that wasn't to say that I agree with the practice. For instance I bought a re-issue copy of Patrinelle Staten's, Little Love Affair. I bought it direct from www.lightintheattic.net as I knew from the website that it'd been released with co-operation with her. So therefore I believe money from this will go to the artist responsible, whereas if I bought it on another wellknown reissue label I wouldn't be too sure. At the end of the day what I or anyone else spends their money on, is down to them. I am not going to say I have never bought a boot or never will in the future. What I will say however is that I have bought a lot more original vinyl since I've joined this site (almost 2 years ago), than I had in the previous 20 years.

Philadelphia International
Baz if that's mediocre, why do want £50 for it?

Has anybody ever told you Mr Rimmer, that sarcasm is the lowest form of wit?

Philadelphia International
Who started this arguement? Anyway in my first post, I didn't state Northern venues. Admittedly they are the types of events I attend. Then again I see on the playlists for Ponds Forge last Friday that The O'Jays - Backstabbers was played. So by my reckoning Ponds Forge is a soul venue, or am I wrong? I'd rather listen to I Love Music than Dean Barlows monstrosity Third Window, anyday of the week. Then again as we have all said in the past, there's no accounting for taste, whether good or bad! Soul Music v Northern Soul = Same Meat, Different Gravy!

Philadelphia International
Is there any possibility of anyone posting up a couple of philly tracks in the gallery, not including Party Time Man? I'd have a go, but I have neither the records nor the technology!

Repro's & Re - Issues.. Who Gets The Money?
I think the same amount of money goes to the Artists of these records, as that of originals that are sold on Ebay. In other words nothing!

Locked Threads, Why
You have my support Rachel, for the decision that you made.

Philadelphia International
I was just listening to that Angie Stone track in the gallery, which has obviously just lifted the music from The O'Jays - Backstabbers. This got me to thinking, why don't you ever seem to hear any stuff from the Philadelphia International label played out anywhere? I can only ever remember hearing one Philly track played at an event that I've attended. This was back in the mid to late 80's, at The Old Schoolhouse in Woking, I'm sure it was Love Train by The O'Jays. Has anyone got any thoughts on the matter?

Joe Dunlops Latest List
What's the difference, is it just label layout or something? Or is it just higher price due to rarity?

Joe Dunlops Latest List
Is this correct or is it just a typing error (£10)? Candy & The Kisses - The 81 - Cameo Parkway - £100

Similarities With Rockabilly Scene
I'll have you know just because I get paid by South West Trains, it doesn't mean I work for it. As for it being a pretty weird place, nothings changed!

Oc Tolbert
I've just been listening to some stuff on SoulClub and this came on and it sounded familiar. As a result I discovered it on one of the Kent singles (Town 116), was this the only release on vinyl? I'm only going by what it says on John Manships site. Anybody got anymore info on it, thanks.
