  1. How silly of me - I didn't realise that
  2. Why advertise and not just leave it for people looking?
  3. Robb The CD goes along the lines of Willie was a friend of Jimmey Soul Clark. Popcorn signed him to Soul Hawk. Willie ended up singing as a backing singer on 'My Baby Ain't No Play Thing' which was actually written and arranged with him in mind. However, it was given to New Holidays as more commercially successful/known. Willie died in 1994 and he was also a member of Masterplan in '70s. Cheers Richard

Merry Christmas to all Soul Sourcers, and especially to Mike and all the Mods who do a fabulous job - thanks all and hope you have a great festive break! Cheers Richard
  5. Wilie Harvey on the CD
  6. Detroit Strings - In the Pocket is on YouTube so there might be others Richard
  7. There was the 12" described above which I believe was both black and red vinyl presses Also a 3 tracker in red vinyl with Eric & Vikings - Hurting, Detroit Strings - In The Pocket and Willie Jones - My Baby Ain't No Plaything - but that might have been later on Cheers Richard
  8. Great thanks - yes, useful stuff Anyone got a scan for the HMCW record please? Cheers Richard
  9. Thanks again Robb Was the CD shelved? Cheers Richard
  10. Cheers Steve Yes, vocal due to age is not unlike a young Carl Carlton or Darrow Fletcher Richard
  11. Thanks Dave - great stuff - much appreciated Re-read your article too - excellent Cheers Richard
  12. Me neither Dave It went through eBay a month or so ago for about 40 quid Now on Popsike Cheers Richard
  13. Hi everyone Does anyone have the story on this one please? It couples together two originally unissued tracks. The other side is "I'll Be Your Winner". Anyone know when was it made, where etc. please? Is it an out and out bootleg, or was it done legitimately somehow? Cheers Richard
  14. Needs no introduction Already posted by Geoff above - but here it is on a WDJ Cheers Richard
  15. And here it is on a yellow DJ copy Anyone seen any other yellow DJ copies on the label with DISC JOCKEY NOT FOR SALE printed on the label like this please? Cheers Richard
  16. Another cheap but absolutely superb track which for me is the epitome of the Detroit sound Holidays - Watch Out Girl Golden World 47 Cheers Richard
  17. Anyone got any info please? Cheers Richard
  18. Hi Wilxy Sure no problem mate - will do you one over the Christmas break when I have dug out the record Please just PM me you email address Cheers Richard
  19. Thanks very much for the pic Andy Presumably Data Music Productions is a miss-print of some kind? With Dave Hamilton surely it would have been Da Da Music Productions? Cheers Richard
  20. I think that's actually the point Nev raised originally mate - it is common courtesy to acknowledge an offer Richard
  21. Presumably SS is still alive? If so what happened to him? Plus, if we met him should we thank him or punch him in the gob! As you can tell - I'm totally uninformed on this one Cheers Richard
  22. Wilxy - Patti Gilson is quite tough but came out on a yellow issue and sticker demo - scan of mine below Cheers Richard
  23. Although I think 'I'm Spellbound' is a superb Northern classic I do have a soft spot for the flip-side which is a great classy beat ballad. Cheers Richard
  24. Yes mate - not good at all for the Northern crowd - but of interest to those who listen to a different genre I suppose. Was considered good enough to get released on two labels - as it was also on Fleetwood. Strangely on that one titled 'One Girl, One Boy' - which is reverse to the Golden World release Here's my copy on GW which is one of the few I know about and which some may recognise by the label writing as it has been scanned/posted previously - although has been in my possession for a while now. Yes, truly a record for the Northern/Soul completist Cheers Richard
  25. Great stuff Dave - thanks for that - appreciate it mate Richard
