  1. It is I thought you were mine Phil doesn't cope very well with computers!
  2. Dave In The Basement mag #43 (Aug - Oct 2006) has a 4 page article on Duke-Peacock. If you PM your address I can take to work & photocopy for you tomorrow. You will probably just have to acknowledge them as a source if the info used anywhere. Regards Mike
  3. Saw it & bid. Must admit never seen for sale before & didn't expect it to go for that much. Was gonna ask for as a xmas pressie from my ma, but don't think she'll stretch that far.
  4. Copy of the above wanted. Please PM, thanks Mike
  5. Couldn't agree more Tony. when it was played to me first I was trying to name who it could be as it sounded so authentic. Unfortunately, my copy jumped so I am returning for a replacement, which will hopefully be ok. Mike
  6. Anyone heard their 45? What do you think? Whammy/Double Whammy My mate recently won a copy on one of Mark Lamarr's radio shows (Lamarr is noted as the exec producer) & played it to me the other day. A great R&B 45 it is. Unfortunately, I can't find a soundbite of the vocal side (which I prefer), but you can hear the instrumental on his MySpace page From looking at his MySpace page & listening to some of the tracks they cover Boogie Woogie, Jump Blues and Rock & Roll. Some good tracks on the albums also (you can hear https://www.bigboybloater.com/shop.htm) Mike
  7. £50-£60 Tomasso, I would say
  8. Thanks for the interest Replied to all PM's now. Delays due to getting on computer when my son lets me Mike
  9. Need to clear overdraft, so to try & get some moving all are reduced by £5 or reasonable offers. Thanks Mike
  10. Anything in particular? VG - lowest grade - would probably say looks worse than it plays, as all play well, and try to point out how I think it plays in more detail if audible crackles etc. Any discrepancy on receipt, would discuss. Mike

  12. Fat City records sell them in the UK. Link below https://secure.fatcity.co.uk/sales/pages/ch...upsubgroupid=16 £24.99 with postage! Agree that card needed to strengthen it, but a handy small bag Mike
  13. Any ideas on value? Willie Parker- I've got to fight it/Lets start a thing now (M-Pac 7233). I think it books £150 in one of the guides, but unsure if this is a realistic price or a bit steep Thanks Mike
  14. The Latin Blues Band - Pussycat & Take a trip are great. Just put pussycat on a cd for a girl at work, and she is quite enamoured with the lyrics (can't find me a pussy in this whole town)
  15. In November a couple of years ago I bought about 6 records totalling about $200 from Moerer without insurance. Unfotunately, they never turned up, however, he kindly refunded half of the total in the new year when it was clear they weren't gonna appear. Can't fault really as he wasn't liable and I hadn't been a prolific buyer from him prior to the incident.
  16. Jimmie Ellis Happy to be (the man you like to see) Century City Mike H Southend
  17. Dean Is Si Cheeba still involved with a proposed SPEED records compilation? I lent him my copy of one he hadn't heard of (Al Gonzalez - I love you too much) a while back. Went to Crossfire with him last weekend but forgot to ask. I particularly like Joe Bataan. Special girl, Unwed mother and Young, Gifted & Brown being favourites. A great voice I picked up his Gypsy Woman in about '86 from a local shop I still frequent. Unfortunately I didn't pick up copies of 'I want a chance for romance' and 'Use it before you lose it' that were stocked at the time. Both expensive tunes now when & if they turn up. Good luck on your new night Warren Mike

  22. Try www.jazzmanrecords.co.uk
  23. Popular for people with a funk leaning also. Was comped on Ian Wright's Sister Funk 2 (Jazzman) recently, which may suit you or keep you going until a 45 turns up. Mike
  24. More applicable to a wayward youngster!! Mama, I wish i'd stayed at home by Deneice Chandler
  25. The Al Jones on Amy is really nice. Takes a little time to get going, but once it does..... Played it a few times at a local bar they let me play some tunes in once a month & goes down well, especially when the crowd has had a few!
