  1. I've compared them several times and the only differences are that Searling's misses the first drum roll and fades earlier so technically the endings are different but there's less on the original acetate, not more. There's no different take apart from the one on the new CD. Either compare them yourself again or send me a copy of the one you have. I'd love there to be more mystery to this one but I'd be very surprised indeed if there was.
  2. Hi Eddie, we could do an instrumental for Vol 4 if the masses demand it. Pete, pay attention, Searlings version was the same as on Vol 1, sometimes he slightly speeded it up sometimes he didn't. You may be confusing bad audio with alternate versions.
  3. "I've had that version of Little Ann on tape for a few years now, exactly how many 'takes' of the track exist?" -ST That's the copy I did for Andy Rix a few years ago. There are two different vocals and a few variations on those but the two that will be on Vol 3 (this one) and the original one on Vol 1 are the ones that matter.
  4. I think he was a man who loved the scene but realised it wasn't the whole world; just an exciting and hilarious part of it. RIP (it up).
  5. Have Barbara Mills demo, Masqueraders, C&C Boys and a few other bits ending tomorrow on Ebay.
  6. I'm sure cross compiled comps will be OK, I'll check on the 100% Fantasy ones but there'll be a sell off period on them anyway. I have noticed that some of the CDs that are running low on stock aren't getting re-pressed unless they are still selling on strongly so some of the 5+ years old ones are deleted or close to it. Don't hang about there'll be very hard to find soon.
  7. That's clever, I think I sound like a young Robert DeNiro. Ken the Little Ann's going to be on the new dave Hamilton CD at the end of the month. The only help you need is sniffing the talc hooligans out. I'll get you a dog (cue BB).
  8. Cheers Mark and if you're after a few bob there'll be a job on the back door comng up soon! Ady

  18. On horacesrecords (one word) on E-Bay. Some peeps on here were after Art Gentry recently.
  19. Odyssey 'If You're Looking for A Way Out' Darryl Hall & John Oates 'She's Gone'
  20. Thanks for that, now I need the original matrix # to see if mine's real! I assume those pesky Belgians must have had it re-pressed then, just like Sam Fletcher in the 70s.
  21. How's the Al McArthur a boot, I got mine from Ted about ten years ago and it looks the same, why would anyone have booted it 10 years ago, it was pretty unknown except in Belgium. In fact I think mine was the same as an original I had had for years and sold just prior to getting the second copy.
  22. Because the serrations were for record players and juke boxes that stacked records, so they wouldn't slip on each other. They rarely worked, you had to know which pressings would stack with which, an art in itself.
  23. Yep you can DJ with them any time and if they've never been on vinyl before even better. Was it the price of the Grapevines that put you off Pete or the tracks? I know there's a lot more modern on those.
  24. It's viable but only just and thats another reason why bootleggers skip the royalties. If we put out a series of good legal reissue 45s will you all promise to buy them?
