  1. I'm pretty sure the anniversary single was first.
  2. Unissued Scepter track put out on an LP in the 80s and still available on the Living The Nightlife CD CDKEND 104
  3. Funnily enough I had no idea who was playing the records for the first ten years of the scene, I just enjoyed the records. I still haven't got over DJs thinking of themselves as big deals.
  4. My set at the Ritz after Geno Washington had droned on for a couple of hours. 1,000 people were sitting there gagging to dance and I was the first DJ on. The records were irrelevant, it was the relief.
  5. It hit most parts for me and was different enough from others to make it special, as with all sounds you really need a few full listenings to assess it but I did think it brilliant first play. Junior Johnson is a weird one but has incredible moments in it.
  6. Maybe too southern in places for you Pete, what about the Junior Johnson, not your style either?
  7. It's a master tape Andreas, unissued.
  8. There's 30 secs of it on the site now, Melvin Parker 'If I Had My Way'. Also check out Junior Johnson The Centre Of Attraction another stunning new discovery. Ady https://www.6ts.info/audio.asp
  9. I consider the first to have been Jeff King's Old Soul label: Poets She blew A Good Thing and a Jackie Lee pressing. Old Soul was the name we gave to the music which later became known as Northern.Ady
  10. If you wanna swap for a flat one just send it to me at Ace. Cheers Ady
  11. All sorted out now thanks Ady
  12. It does seem to be a bit sensitive a couple of people have had that problem but one sent it back and it played perfectly, I sent him a new one which I checked and he couldn't play that either so it is a case of the deck or arm not being set up correctly, try twiddling your anti-skate or arm weight. Ady
  13. Can anybody send me a hi-res scan (300 dpi) of the ballad side please? Ady
  14. That's great that the single is getting plays. It is virtually impossible to get an unknown played and made popular in less than two years so the idea behind the anniversary 45s was to make it more available but still with a buzz about it. Thanks for spinning it. Ady
  15. I always liked modern chart and indy type music too but concentrated more on the Northern end of it. I then found I had some catching up to do with some of the good ones I'd missed like say the Smiths but it was still great discovering them 5 years too late and it meant I didn't have to listen to the rubbish stuff by other groups who were bad flashes in the pan.
  16. All sorted now people, I shall enjoy it in the seclusion of my parlour.
  17. I saw them at my first ever dance in 1966 or 67 Market Harborough carnival, Legay were the support playing in a cage like animals. I was more into them then being a zak as Harboro hippies later became known. It was so loud my virgin ears were ringin for a week. Steve Fearn was from Harboro I think a lot of the band were from Leicester.
  18. Wendy May aka Wendy Billingsley runs a night in North Devon but can't remember what its called. Somewhere like Barnstable.
  19. I could use one of these too, if anyone has one. It sounded great down Majestic. Ady
  20. Thanks anyway, I know what its like to not be able to grab a record. if anybody else has it I'd still love to hear it.
  21. Thanks Mr C I understand Breaking Up is a slow version, is it any good?
  22. Thanks Bob, I could still do with hearing 130 anybody. Ady
  23. Thanks Bob, I could still do with hearing 130 anybody. Ady
  24. I could do with knowing if 'I'm Your Special Fool' on 126 or 'I Apologise' / 'Breaking Up' on 130 are ballads and if so can I get a listen to any of them please. Ta Ady
  25. Blokes with birds
