  1. Deaf shurely: hic!
  2. I I doubt it as this is very different and would have created quite a buzz as this did at the time of the CD release. One play would give you the answer. Ady
  3. Blimey, I feel exhausted reading that. As well as Must I Holler on the Chess CDs was the Radiants 'Hold On' which one punter berated me on. The Terry Callier 'Look At Me Now', we actually sussed out and said alternate jazz version or words to that effect. Those CDs are probably well worth checking on as we weren't comparing to the 45s then.
  4. Come on you 12" fondlers
  5. Probably I'll have to A/B that too, though it doesn't have the pressing fault either.
  6. The Jean Carter I think was just a great tape as the 45 pressing ain't that good. The acetate version I've got is a different version.
  7. Improved the list a bit

  9. I'm sure Dave has the brains to supply those, I've got his list but ain't sure how to get it to you. Thanks
  10. Fascinating stuff, and though I was responsible for most, there's a lot I still don't know about. In Between Tears and Woman's World for example. We put those out from what was described as the master many years ago in good faith and didn't properly check some of them. If we state on the LP or CD that it's a different version, then obviously I don't need to know about them, if however we just put down the 45 catalogue number, then we have assumed it's the same version and I'd love to know so that we can put out the right one or re-present it under its correct description. In some cases people have thought its a different take when its just a different EQ, the one that got me was Soul Bros 6 on Atlantic. I heard the tape of I'll be Loving You and thought they'd sent me the demo session until I A/Bed it with the 45 and it is exactly the same, it sounds so different from a clean master. If anyone's taking this on scientifically (John/Pete?), I'll contribute whatever I can, if not I might have a bash over the months myself. Thanks for all the interest. Ady
  11. He was a charming bloke who I spoke to when we realised the You Gotta Have Soul unreleased Goldwax track wasn't by the writer George Jackson but by Lee who signed a deal with Goldwax when he was visiting in Memphis. You Hurt Me So Good was a great unissued flip too.
  12. And worth it for that stunning recently discovered photo of the great man. But I would say that!
  13. I always hated that synth sound but sitting here listening to the non-boom boom, I actually prefer it with da boom. Funny old game!
  14. Cheers chaps Ady
  15. That's the one, all I need is to work out who the publishers are now. Cheers chum Ady
  16. T'other side sunshine !
  17. I've seen a scan of Love Must Go On but could do with one of the flip and hearing both sides if anyone can assist Ta Ady
  18. Thanks, I heard it on the site but still need to see a scan. Come on Ken!
  19. Thanks, it's the wrong side for my research but a fascinating article. Ady
  20. I remember being at the Leicester market stall when Jeff King had the Human Beinz, a UK Capitol copy I think he wanted £8 for it which was what I earned in 2 months in my schoolboy job. I've PMed you about those happy days, great to have you on here. If you can't work out the PM thing, let me know on here. Ady
  21. Anyone got one? I need a scan and a listen if it's a Kent and Dimples Harris song. Ta Ady
  22. Add Good Time Charlie I Can't Work And Watch You baby on Constructive (great title!)
  23. I'm doing research and keep finding new ones so here's my "wants" list if anyone can help with this project. I need to hear them and in some cases see scans of the labels. If there are any other odd ones I may have missed, feel free to run them by me to see if I've already snagged them.
