Resizing Photos/thumbnails
You can crop the image on irfanview. photo the record and save, and go through the same procedure with Irfanview until you bring up the full size image and resize / resample it. If you then point your mouse in the middle of the image and click you can drag the box to crop the image to just the label. Then click on the edit toolbar and click crop selection and it should work but you may need a bit of practice. Then click save as etc. VM

Resizing Photos/thumbnails
Jamie this is how I use Irfanview. Edit your image with a photo editing programme. Save the image (desktop?) Open Irfanview. click on file in top left corner of toolbar. Click on open. Choose saved file from where saved (desktop?) Click on open and it will bring up full size image. Click on Image on top toolbar. Click on resize / resample. Then resize to suit. Click on OK box.. Click on file toolbar. Click save as and save (usually re writing the original file name) Should then work. Hope this makes sense.

Coolest Label Design
Not a rare record by any means but so simple in design with plenty of information on it. Would rather have it in my collection from a listening point than The Oxford Knights shite thats causing a lather at the moment.

Sounds like storm to me Pete. Whats the line that comes before "Ill be the smile that you smile & the song that you sing" followed by that strange high pitched "Hey. In fact is anyone brave enough to have a go at the complete lyrics. Impossible

If You Could Only Play One Tune
On a purely played out oldies point of view it has to be The Snake , I hate it now but it must of alerted more people to Northern soul than any other. You have to start somewhere.Give this some credit. On the other hand I reckon that if anyone heard Little Anthony & The Imperials singing Better Use Your Head played on any radio station and not Knowing much about soul music, it would make you think bloody hell thats good. Ive heard it a thousand times now but if it was played on the Jonathon Ross show tomorrow on radio 2 for example it would still make the hairs on the back of my neck stand up.

John Peel Rip
I remember his show been on in the background in the 70s and playing Eddie Parker in amongst all that progressive shite , it was either Im Gone or Love you baby (memory's not so good now) and John describing it as "Awesome"

White Artist Soul
We were having this sutch debate in our house the other night and I am of the opinion that a black soul singer is far superior to a white one anytime.White artists may of made some cracking soul records but in terms of vocals there is generally a great difference.Take 2 of Motowns finest vocalists for example Edwin Starr and Brenda Holloway , there are no white singers who could ever come near to their sublime voices.IMO. <_

Motown Lp Only Tracks
This would be a fantastic theme for another CD swap as there are some real treasures lurking on Motown and soul Lps that are little heard. Is it a good idea or what?

Out Of Favour Tunes
I allways remember this off the Jumping at the Go Go Lp I had when I was about 18 or 19 , actually knew all the words to it but struggling to remember them now. " Its like sitting in an oven after turning on the gas , and then lighting up a cigarette just how long can I last" Brilliant!

Out Of Favour Tunes
