How much is the Honey Townsend worth? I was oblivious to it's release until a few months back when I saw on played (can't remember where). I think it was a gold label, but this maybe a snare... It's been a long time since I saw one listed for that little! Last four I saw: £400, £400, £350, £600.

I can tell you here that the label is gold so scans as very dark green/border line black. Taking this into consideration, there is really no point sending you the scan again. Any news on the little Johnny taylor?? I've recently recieved a copy of the Poppies' "Pain in my Heart", on Totem instead of Epic. I believe this is a rare/local/first release of this tune. Can you (or anyone) tell me more? The label is white with pink logo (I would have attached scan but my my scanner's playing up) Ta, Billy

I don't doubt the fact that the record is original as I was never aware of it being booted (apart from Sevens), but am edgy to whether it exists, or is just a figment of his imagination and a punt at nickin' mi cash! I just missed The Delegates on a list at £400 (starting price, auction), although the seller took an offer of £500 and closed auction early, so £300's cheap (ish). Try Charles Mintz's cover, rarer, so more exclusive, but just as good! He also released an "up-to-date" version (sounds '70s at latest though) and you can pick these up for about £10.

Yes, I suppose it's a rather good dancer, but I personally think the vocal is very weak. I have to stand my ground (after playing it time and time again, if only to make myself like it - although this proved unsucessful) and back up my previous view that the the record is hopeless - but, as I said, this is just my view, you are free to think what you like. Does this mean it's your fave?

I totally aggree with you Sebastian (at least on the lines of the record being dreadful! - sorry Donkey), but I suppose if the record is a one (or two) off, as are Frank Wilson, Frankie Beverly, Inspirations etc., it is understandable to pay a large price - although you won't catch me reaching in my wallet an pulling out any where near that kind o' money!! ;-)

Firstly... I think issues are rarest, but I really don't know. How much did the acetate sell for? Re: Attachment - is this it? and... Quite bloody stupid IMO and ridiculously overpriced! I know it's rare, but it ain't that good, is it now?!!

I didn't mean that any quantity had turned up (Ivorys still fetching £6,000 and some... :-O ), I mean that I find it rather strange for such a large label like Wand is related to such scarse disc - but just look at CP/Fairmount, Damon Fox, Frankie Beverly, Yvonne Baker, etc.
