  7. Wilson pickett - let me be your boy (Debbie) I dont understand the question - (Ian) do you mean breaks/dynamics?
  8. Young holt unlimited - California montage. very soulful instrumental Ronnie n Robin - Sidras theme, the snare drum on every beat with the simple 2 beat fills does it for me. great tune
  9. Epitome of sound, reminds me of the late Nev Wherry RIP. I have vivid memories of him and his lady dancing (arms around each other) to it at a Nottm palais all dayer circa 78/79. i still think of this every time i hear it. also Mel Britt, reminds me of a good friend who emigrated to Oz many moons ago. it was his fave tune, probably still is
  10. the clue is in 'Breakaway'

  16. Geri Thomas 'Look what i got' . once covered up as "Zena Foster" ?? Rubbish bit of trivia because it was probably only for a short while I do remember having a tape of Soul Sam calling it by that artist from Notts palais around 78/79
  17. The two tunes that i really do hate are, Bobby Womack-Home is where the heart is & Millie Jackson-House for sale, they drive me mad!
  18. Its got to be Antellects-Love Slave
  19. Our Tune is "Baby What I Mean" By The Drifters
  20. It has to be The Deadbeats-No Second Chance, "Who do you think you are, you get no second chance!" I think thats the line i used on my ex husband!
  21. A Mirwood white label copy of Bobby Garretts-I cant get away for £5, I was also given some original Wigan Casino patches & vintage circle skirts that were worn to the Casino by some very very very nice friends!
  22. you will find 'Roxy' Rob at any notts area venues on a weekend (cant miss him, he dances like a demon ) he can also be found as a seller on ebay "roxyrob" https://myworld.ebay.co.uk/roxyrob&ssPa...:MEFSX:SELLERID
  23. in all honesty, i see this happen regardless of venue. time and time again venues are let down by poor PA systems and even worse EQ settings. sorry to go off topic a little but can you promoters/DJ's whoever sort out the EQ? cymbals are recorded onto the master tapes but i can never hear them coming out of speakers . same goes for string sections, tambourines etc. most seem to be all bass and mid frequencies, give em some clarity, get the high frequency horns above head height, keep the bass on the deck IAN (sound engineer and drummer in bands) p.s. rant over pps Grosvenor rooms have a stonking clear PA
