  1. This source lists his surname as Palcak and "Kilne" in the middle, but this maybe a typo. Also, the other info is that he was around NJ as opposed to PA, so not sure if he is the same. But he could have moved around I guess.
  2. The term "credible source" is an interesting one Chalky. We have someone writing who clearly knew the group and Bobby Kline having lived nearby him at the time. He confirms Kline was in the group (maybe just for this one recording who knows? ) and yet there are people who seem to cast doubt on this. I would put him as being infinitely more credible than Wiki, Google, me, you or anyone else mate.
  3. Anyone have a copy of 'Magic Love' to sell please ? PM's please with price or I can make an offer...easy either way. Thanks Andy
  4. This was one Chalky https://www.last.fm/music/The+Ocapellos/+wiki Its says nothing except Kline was a member. There was another but I'd have to dig it out as I can't find it. Also if you just type 'Ocapellos' into Google there's an info box on the right side of the screen
  5. Rob have a listen at the flip side 'anytime' it sounds white to me. Also, as you know band members - particularly in local bands - chopped and changed regularly so line ups changed. I wrote something recently on the Imperial Wonders and they changed line up constantly. If the guy on the internet says he was there and knew Kline, then personally I'd go with that. Also the General 45 provides a direct link to Kline. I'm not saying Kline was a constant member as the line up may alter, but there is a distinct lack of information to state that he wasn't (at some point) in my view. I've seen the group photo's (all black line up) but equally I've seen a couple of websites who refer to Kline being a member. Either way we have an 'eyewitness' who knew him and lived in the same area at the time and is clearly into his vocal group's. Based on what I have seen and read I'll stick with he was a member......at some point.....not permanent.
  6. Not sure this is true. From an internet source....."This group evolved from two other East Orange groups called The Crowns (recorded on Snowflake Records) and The Cameos (recorded on Dean and Johnson Records). Although the Ocapellos are a black group, their lead singer, Bobby Kline, is white. He used to live up the street from me". Seems this came from someone who knew Kline. Andy

  12. Soul Majestics is just unbelievable. I had a pile of these from Mooerer some years ago for about 4 or 6 dollars a pop and was knocking them out at 20 quid. I had both 45's at the time as part of the lot, not realising one was rarer than the other
  13. I'm assuming you are responding to a PM (private message) sent to you. Its better if you reply to the message then the other person gets a response straight away rather than putting it in the main thread Hope you get what you want.
  14. I'm truly staggered by some of these prices. If Ebay went back to the old days when you knew who was bidding, do you think the sellers would get these prices ? Anonymity gives bidders more freedom to get silly without their mates calling them out on the price they payed.
  15. I agree, it takes an extra 2 seconds to type a "please" or "thanks". The tone of some of the wants and sales posts come across very badly. Instead of putting "no offers", what about "no offers please" or maybe "I'm not considering offers thanks". Just a bit of common civility wouldn't go amiss.
  16. For your consideration.. Little Anthony and Imperials - If I love you - UA - NM (probably unplayed) £35 Sound files on YT if you don't know it. Post 1.50 first 2.50 recorded 5.00 worldwide Paypal as F&F PM questions or to reserve Cheers Andy
  17. For your consideration.. Alicia Myers - I want to thank you - MCA Ex+ £35 Some really high prices on Discogs for this up to 80 ! Vinyl is Ex+ but there is a tiny piece of the label missing (see scan) hence price. Sound files on YT if you don't know it. Post 1.50 first 2.50 recorded 5.00 worldwide Paypal as F&F PM questions or to reserve Cheers Andy
  18. The prices they are asking are ridiculous in some cases. I've seen individual sleeves worth more than the record . Seriously I'm not sure what these sellers are up to. Obviously expanding their sales, but to have the 45 in the same sale as the separate sleeve is a p**s take because we can see the two belong together and have been separated for commercial purposes.
  19. I put some covers together as a bit of a collage for the office wall. Not finished yet as I'm going to put some copied labels onto the RCA 45's. Picture wrong way round of course !!
  20. Forgot.... Edward Hamilton is an easy one to differentiate. Orange label Carrie is the original and will go for big bucks now (several hundred pounds). The Green label is a legit reissue and probably today will be in the tens of pounds - 30 ish I guess ?
  21. I'm relisting many of these due to non-paying buyers last time round. I've also added a few more tunes to the list. A few cheaper xover and modern bits, hopefully well below dealer prices !!. Condition: NM - probably unplayed Ex - Nice disc small signs of use VG - some surface marks maybe slight noise, no deep scratches or gouges or label damage. Post 1.50 first, 2.50 recorded 5.00 worldwide and Paypal as F&F or add 4% fees if that's preferred. 22. Frank Dell Boot / pressing https://www.45cat.com/record/6900xb Frank Dell Original https://www.45cat.com/record/6900us Different typeface on the label and the original is very dark red. The boot is lighter red and if memory serves me will probably have some bubbling on the label.
  23. Nice to hear the Windmill mentioned. I went there a few times in my youth. We caught the train north to Rotherham one day and walked towards the venue. There was 3 of us and we were around 15 years old or so, as we wandered towards the venue a heavy rocker came running at us waving a piece of 4x2 shouting that we were part of a certain gang and we'd beat up his mate the week before. So it was fight or flight.....we chose flight knowing the old rocker wouldn't catch us. Friendly place Rotherham... Andy Mac
  24. Chalky, see my response to Mark R above. Not about money for me. Drew
  25. Bit harsh on the response there Mike I feel. Perfectly valid question IMHO. But yes, lets stick to the topic....... For those who are after the 'darling I need you / Your love...' on the Yellow label. Just be aware that a fair few of them are pressed off centre. I know a few people who have been caught on this
