  9. I always find a half decent box of these helps....lol no British re issues with the centres dinked out of them, no look - a - likes, no dodgy label scans over a vinyl carver...simple really just good old first generation authentic American 45's, you know the ones that take blood, sweat, tears, passion, commitment, dedication, not to mention often serious coin to locate and purchase. Still it's whats in the groove that counts ain't it...........bugger if it is....lol. Regards - Mark Bicknell.

  13. Still need decent good records dancer or not, Northern Soul DJ'ing is a little like professional footballers all the people who think they are the best players are often in the terraces shout loudly talk a good game but when it comes down to it have not got the skills to actually play. Regards - Mark Bicknell.

  17. Steve, judging by the vast amounts of records constantly coming up for sale via here on Soul Source, Ebay, established dealers etc. I suspect this is already the case, seems to me there is a 'Record Mountain' building and it's getting bigger by the day, huge vast amounts of records which are hard or sometimes impossible to sell, records we thought were rare and hard to find constantly turning up and offered for sale and so it goes on, I feel sorry for people who have invested big if they want to see a return or even get their money back then they may struggle, still buying records should never be about the financial/investment side of things for many of us it's simply about the music at whatever cost. Regards - Mark Bicknell.
  18. I'm glad to say I got off the 'must have' the big ticket merry-go-round ages ago, I simply buy and collect records which float my boat be they cheap as chips little bits and bobs or sometimes the more exspensive, buying records to simply DJ with or impress others in my book is a nonsense and a pointless exercise as often there is always someone there to over shadow your efforts, collecting records is a very personal thing and it would be good if sometimes we could actually express ourselves totally when DJ'ing by playing a non restricted type spot rather than the often play safe method as ever playing a solid hour of in your face big money records can become a little boring. I'm having more fun now than ever before swapping, buying, selling etc. selling to buy seems to be what most of us have to do in order to keep the collecting bug going which I find easier to do now than a few years ago, if you can overcome the emotional attatchment to certain records then this helps big time, I'm often of the opinion if someone else can get pleasure and enjoyment from a record I own then there is no problem in selling it, however there will always be certain records no matter how hard you try you can never let them go. Regards - Mark Bicknell. PS, waiting for the postman to arrive with several small packages.....collecting don't you just love it?

  21. List updated. Regards - Mark Buicknell.
  22. Who's chasing the same few records exactly? I'm not sure this is totally the case? for some yes but there are plenty of people who have fun digging around for the less obvious records often for a lot less money than the so called big ticket items. Regards - Mark Bicknell.
  23. 'Accents' two stunning sides proper Northern Soul....lol Regards - Mark Bicknell.
