Just to add i have sent an email directly to the person concerned here trying to explain my original post, i would like to say publically here that it was not my intention to offend or cause any distress regarding this, i don't personally have an opinion on this but as i got what i thought was a pretty odd email out of the blue like this i simply wanted to bring this to the attention of people and if you read my original post which i have now closed i did say or ask 'is it a scam or is it genuine' perhaps i was wrong to suggest indirectly that it was a scam, i openly admit that on reflection my posting was wrong but as i said i was basically bringing what i considered to be something a little odd to peoples attention and if people choose to support the request then thats up to them, i totally vindicate that the suggestion of a scam was wrong if it came over as such. OK i get an email out of nowhere a few days ago that basically rambles on and we all know how many email internet scams there are, i did not say it was a scam although my thread heading may have suggested that, i was unsure and if you read my introduction to the original email i was simply asking the question if it was genuine, i really don't understand the above posting, i'm named but all i did was raise the point here, what's the bowling ball comment mean? As i originally said if this is a genuine plea for help financial or otherwise then a direct post would have been the way forward, i have closed my original post on this in hope that it stops any further distress to the person above. Ged, You are not alone believe me mate, more and more of us are feeling like this, i really have no drive,commitment or passion to even leave the house to be honest, it's not that much fun anymore, the music is still the best in the world and that will never change for me but as you pointed out Ged times have infact changed and for the worse, it's so sad that this otherwise pure music is being tarnished, sometimes you have to walk away and bite your bottom lip mate, but to be honest enough is enough, this scene has been a huge part of our lives yet i'm full of anger at many aspects of it, it's based on music, strip it all down and it was there at the scenes inception and it will be there at the end, it's this circus bandwaggon that perpetuates the side of the scene which i hate. Shocking news really shocking, another nail in the Northern Soul coffin, this is dirty tricks tatics which beggers belief, makes you feel a little ashamed to be part of a scene that has people within it's ranks that will jump on and crush others, it's a real sad day in my book and just another reason to think why bother? I despair John i really do, this seller would seem not to know his stuff, the originals of this are blue/red pattern and not red and black, there were black and white design bootlegs way back and i think it was also repro'd recently, this looks like someone has coloured it in with a red felt pen....lol Mark Bicknell.

Looks like i had a good result when i got mine then.....i wondered why the guy i bought it off ain't been in touch recently...oh well nice to have a bargain now and again, my valuation was bottom end i guess, pretty suprised and happy that it's 6/700.....thanks.

It should not matter one bit how many rare records this jerk trades in, personally i'd make a point of shouting from the roof tops and f*** the records, they take the piss and their gradings are totally different to ours, i would question his attitude and challenge his reputation, name and shame spread the word and maybe if your over there on a record trip perhaps look him up and see if he understands the good ole' baseball bat method...well he should it's their national sport ain't it? You should perhaps tell him it don't matter how rare a record is if it's fucked then it ain't worth a light, so what if he sells big titles! how many more bad condition records has he sold on Ebay???? It makes me laugh to think that most American dealers not all but many of them have little or no interest or appreciation of the records they are selling, it's about the 'buck', still i guess they are trying to make up for all the thousands of records we have had off them for pennies over the years and they are never gonna play catch up on that one are they, very bitter screwed up individuals well some of them are not all. Situations like this are common with Paypal, they don't want to know, they kept asking me to upgrade my account. glad to say i did not and it's now been cancelled, they claim it to be safe and trouble free yet when something goes wrong they close ranks and have this bugger you hard luck attitude.# Mark Bicknell.

Why is there no support or back-up from paypal or Ebay, i got burned by some dick head and they did nothing i even refused to pay my account for listing records but they issued me with a collections letter, i have not played Ebay since, it's a fucking joke they charge you left,right and sideways yet if something goes wrong they are not interested, Paypal is i thought a safeguard way to pay for records yet because the bloke that ripped me off had no funds in his account they were unable to refund the $80.00. People who f*** about on there should be banned for life from trading again, there have now been so many rip off's on there it sickens me, i'll never go on there again it's a fucking minefield, good luck in getting your money back but don't hold your breath. I think you are possibly looking at a very hard original here to locate, it was pressed way back and even they are pretty hard to find, i picked up my copy only about three years ago from a dealer in Sweden for $250.00 which i understand to be bargain basement stuff, you got to be looking at mid hundreds i would think £3/400.00 at least, far harder to find than some of the four figure sum records out there. Well thats ok then...just thought the general grammer etc. was pretty basic to say the least and seems a strange way to gain support to this cause when infact it could have been done more direct with an open request as i said. Mighty Joe Young is a fantastic record, always rated this, I think Chalky is right with his price guide, however given some turntable action who knows??? Big Daddy Rogers was once a £15.00 record and i agree MJY is very my in that style and is a quality tune. Mark Bicknell.

With the huge amount of internet scams it's best advised not to access links etc. as you could end up in hot water, i simply wanted to bring this to peoples attention, i'm not judging this either way but if there was a genuine fund would not it have been better to openly publish the details on this forum and others?
