infact it felt as though i had been to an all-nighter heard the start then fell a sleep and woke up for the 3 before 8 .

caught dean parrish @ 10 to 6 this morning when i got up for a p &then jimmy radcliffe long after ,plus a little story about meeting his son @ soultrip 2004 ,set me up for the day those 2 did.

etta james story -rage to survive by david ritz excellent book from a true musical legend and great stories as well .

there is his version of the detroit spinners "i'll always love" still to surface ,it's alot slower than the original but it grows on you after afew plays.

just watched a 40 minute clip on tammi terrell at tvoneonline.com ,interviews with ashford & simpson,weldon macdougal,harry weinger and her sister also here clips of her singing accapella on few motown classics ,it's available till 27th sept enjoy..

great post ,now lets examine frank wilsons do i love ,it fooled the lot of us back in the day we never thought it was a motown track until it was uncoverded ,so to me anyway you can tell the difference between west coast and detroit tracks ,also the funks played on most detroit tracks out with motown ie ric tic/golden world/groovesville/revoilt etc and you put them up against any west coast recording at that time there tracks are rawer(?) than the polished west coast tracks .

they could've done them but when the tapes got to detroit the funks proberly re recorded them in there style as the motown logs state they were recorded in detroit and HDH state the funks played on the tracks mentioned ,another thing as well jamerson played with his finger where as kaye used a pluck .

so who's all going then ??

yes that is true it was meant for the four tops ,so you never know it might be lurking in the vaults somewhere, but i dout it, it would've surfaced by now unless the did record it and it was binned for something more soulful
