  4. Thanks guys! Apart from some fine tuning with Where did I go wrong (any advance on the Catacoombs then?) then this leaves 'it ain't necessary' and. 'Aware of love'. 'Necessary' I am guessing is pretty much one of those juat always been around, or was it played on the back of Mamie Galore? And 'Aware ' I get the feeling more recent years, being an Lp track or the rarer 070 flip ?
  5. Cheers Phil for your help once again!!

  11. This is one of the labels I'm briefly looking at for some book research on the south eastern states. Pete Drake owned the label, his claim to fame was a steel guitar player, played on Tammy Wynette's 'Stand by your man' and played on Elvis' How Great thou Art' LP. Stop Recs was kind of sold / became incorporated into Nashville's Gusto records in the early 70s, which now has the back catalogue of loads of labels like King, Federal etc. Theres maybe only 4ish tracks of some interest to soulies from what I can see, most have been mentioned here. There was some female thing on it (Joyce somebody?) but not sure if any good.
  12. The Soulmasters - I'll be waiting - Raven This was actually PRESSED at the wrong speed (does sound a bit manic but tempo probably suited the messheads of the day) - one of the band members has sent me an mp3 when he re-edited it to the correct speed (bit slower obviously) and cleaned up the quality, will be playing this out on acetate at Bradford next week as it was orginially intended to be heard.

  20. I know this came out on the 1968 'Girl Watcher' ABC LP, and also that it has been done much more recently. However some youtube blurb suggests it might exist as an EP somehow? Is this the EP the original '68 version or the later one? Anybody know anything about the EP? Cheers, Mark.
  21. Got the Team Beats now Flynny / Phil ! Thanks for the tip. Right who knows when Secret of Mine (Lost Soul) was first played, year, pretty sure Stafford, was it Guy? And was it covered up?

  24. Agree with Paul, Bob and Richard, both sides are fab. 'So much loving' was played loads in Scotland in the mid 80s, loved this as a youth and even then assumed it had been played yonks before that, I assumed because of the tempo before Stafford? Somebody etc flip more recent attention I think
