  1. Fantastic record! Loved it for years, just love that organ, and picked this acetate up on the bay cheap last month....

The jazzman is a reissue but has the tedious 'pre-intro' bit. The Spear one (retitled, omits the drawn-out intro, renamed and pitched up a tad?) was the (pittsburg?) US 'boot' by radio jock apparently in the early 70s. Think I also heard there's now a recent belgian boot of the Spear one too, not sure how true this is though or if the 70's ones have just turned up in bulk. I've got one of each, but not Manny C's LP unfortunately!

Delicates - Crush on you boy / You say you love me - Pulsar SORTED NOW THANKS ALL Anyone? Need it for the 'You say you loved me' side so must play fab this side. Paypal pennies waiting.... Will pay £50 max for an Ex or better, irrespective if demo or issue. Pm me if one's going spare, Thanks, Mark
  13. 'Aware of love' came out on the same Impressions lp that's got 'You ought to be in heaven' - I always thought everybody knew Jerry's and their version and assumed that was where the interest in the Embers version started (which I've now got round to getting too as part of my beachy interest!). Anyway, if you don't know it, also check out Jerry's 'Giving up on love' absolutely superb midtempo cheapie, sounds like a million dollars....
  14. Yeh sorry trev forgot about Relics, Lps mainly occasionally the odd bit of 'ok stuff' and some jazz / latin though all the good stuff are mainly reissued things.
  15. I thought it might be a bit cheaper around £100 for an issue (though admittedly from memory its always vg's I see, don't think there are too many ex's so Richard's evaluation probably right)
  16. Yeh I've thought about this, when I get asked for the value for special delivery. Can get anything up to £500 for £5.90, so in theory could take the piss if you wanted to, so not suprised they ask for some kind of proof of value when claiming. Think when it comes to it I'll go down armed with Mr Manships guide - should cover me twice over!!!!! Seriously though never been in the position of having to claim for a lost item which I have sent special delivery - anyone any experience? Mark
  17. Nope, sorry. Fek all unfortunately. Jumbo (St Johns Centre) your best bet if after comp CDs etc (does have a soul / northern section) but thats about it. Death of the UK record store and all that.

  19. Talkin of instrumentals, the flip Stone Broke was done as such on a Jimmy Delphs Karen release (Do it right now)
  20. Didn't know about the Rhythm Rascals connection, very interesting. Hey Cobbles, me and my mates were very likely in the same Pittsburg record shop we happened across around 1990 (can't remember the name of it, but do have a photo somewhere) !!! The shop owner and his family were very accomodating, I remember him and his family making us tea and sandwiches (after we'd spent about 4 hours in there!), and pushing on us some Chuck Corby repress (wasn't northern) which the shop owner claimed he had something to do with the re-release. We were sort of obliged to buy bulk copies even though we thought it was pants!! Do like 'City of Strangers' whilst we are on the Sonic thing. Mark
  21. £400 at a guess ?
  22. Err Gaz - think you'll find I did mate! Replied yesterday ATB Mark
  23. Hi all, just the one for today : Four Sonics - Easier said than done - Sport (white promo) £100 In excellent condition label and styrene. Pm me if interested Cheers, mark
