  1. But it's still a demo.
  2. I agree, it really sounds like that. But do you really think that back in the 60s they were technically able to mix in the vocals from another take?
  3. Seeing it says CR-1821 on "always be mine" side. Do you know if # in the run out groove is the same? On my testpress "always be mine" is CR-1823, "when the lights are low" is CR-1824.
  4. There are subtle differences in the arrangement and I'm not too sure if the vocals are 100% identical. But I just played the uploaded audio clips myself, I guess something went wrong with the recording, it sounds way too muffled. Will try to record a better quality file.
  5. I recently bought a nice looking test press from Pete Smith last week. To my surprise it does sound quite different to the "Shufflers" copy I used to have many moons ago. What do you guys think? Sounds like a different take/mix or am I deaf? (I take it the "Shufflers" and the "Jay & The Shufflers" presses are virtually the same apart from the groups name? Or are they different mixes?) Audio Files here Have also uploaded an audio clip of the flip "when the lights are low". Does it sound different as well?
  6. Many if not most Stardust releases are boots.
  7. Agree with you Pete. Though there always been certain sellers trying to get top prices for their rather common stuff and I seriously doubt they ever sold anything on SS
  8. Finally managed to find the time to knock together my very first podcast. It's called "Sounds from the shelter" because my record room is a tiny converted WW2 air raid shelter. For my very first podcast I randomly picked 24 60's Northern 45s from my play/goody box (formerly known as the "DJ box"). Includes all sorts of stuff, from well known classics to lesser knowns and even hardly knowns, from common songs to pretty rare ones. Sandra King - Leave it up to the boys - Bell Bobby Treetop - Wait till I get to know you - Tuff June Jackson - It's what's underneath that counts - Imperial Mike & Ray - If only you knew - Giant Big Don's Rebellion - It was true - Ethon The Sharpetts - Lost in the world of a dream - Sound City Hun's Review - Don't make me love you - Sorro Curtis Smith - The living end - Essica Jimmy Stokes - Keep on goin' - Siana The Precisions - What would you do - Wild The Admirations - Heaven is in your arms - Paree Tony Bruno - How am I gonna make it - Hansa (Germany) Southwind Symphony - Coming home - Glolite The World Column - So is the sun - Tower Linda Jones - You can't take it - W.B. (France) Dave Charles - Ain't gonna cry no more - Donnie Clifford Curry - Ain't no danger - Pama (UK) The Rivieras - You counter feit girl - Riley's The Fiestas - Think smart - Old Town John Westley - You are the one - Corsair Arthur Alexander - Keep her guessin' - Dot Larry Davis - I've been hurt so many times - Kent The M.B.S. - Another day - B-Jet George Freeman - Down and out - Valiant https://soundsfromthe....podomatic.com/ Enjoy it!
  9. Robb, different Jackie Day. It's a guy singing on the Tuff 45 from what I remember.

A friend told me he once met a japanese collector who bought all Shrine 45s as new releases.
  16. I'm sure it's an original. it was a hit for the flip "part time love" so label variations due to different pressing plant runs wouldn't surprise me.
  17. Not correct. Soultown was a legit 60s label. SS might have nicked the label design for some of his pressing though
  18. The lyrics ring a bell. Can't name the track yet but I do know it's rather "friends" instead of "prince". George Smith - I've had it springs to mind but it's not the right one, is it?
  19. so is the first.
  20. LaRose Philips "Wanted" Goldisc
  21. sorry to hijack your sales thread. Never knew the one above was reissued, is this a recent one?
