does somebody know where i can "pre-listen" to these tracks and where i can download them legally? buying a CD from the UK is quite expensive and i'm not sure if i like all tracks as i'm not that much of a motown aficionado TIA

heard two R&B tunes the other night, one was merle spears-i want to know and the other one was by bobby byrd on federal, unfortunately forgot title of that one, something with "please mr. postman"? anyway, can anybody give me more information about these two tunes, like availability, value? or even better, offer me a copy of each tune pretty cheap... i doubt it came out in germany, the scans shown here are from the dutch and the french release

agreed, get a decent one like sennheiser, stanton or technics. may cost a bit, but your ears will thank you and the phones don't snap that easily and usually last very long.

was dubbed from master, i think the tapes came from ron murphy? brilliant double-sider, wish i'd never sold my copy, you don't see it around these days does anyone know from which 45 the backing track for "WYGD" was taken? wasn't it something on parkway?

hmm, i think it depends on what style you prefer, solid uptempo northern, midtempo, ballads, crossover, 70s, etc. so from a uptempo northern point of view: melba moore - magic touch played to death i know but putting that aside it's one of the finest examples of what northern soul is about (IMHO)...
