  4. Maybe next year then !
  5. Thanks folks
  6. True, thats (one of) the reasons we had Andy Dyson two weeks ago and will have Kitch on Novenber 8th.
  7. yes Ady, you are right about that. I agree. marc
  8. Well, Joan`s question went "Butch has broke some fantastic tunes over the years without a doubt. But is he still doing it?" my answer simply was, yes, here are some recent ones. As he and most of the so named other "the countries top DJ`s" are still playing said tracks I think one can easily use the term "recent". But having said so if you know any more recent ones without naming his exlusives as we are only on about "broken tunes" go ahead, I gladly sit, watch and learn
  9. No sadly not.
  10. Maybe you are right about that Many play/played Joe Jama, the first two though were Tim Brown and Butch. I believe Butch was a tad faster LOL . Again it was indeed Mark who put the countries (your country) top DJ`s on Ellipsis. Even Keb started playing it only just after Butch. Marc
  11. Joe Jama My Life Parliaments This Is My Rainy Day Ellipsis People Mellow Madness Save The Youth Mixed Feelings Sha La La ...just to name five very recent ones without having to scratch my head at all

  13. When a record becomes available (via a licensed re-issue) there`s no need to promote it any further as obviously already has gained by then its following. Otherwise it wouldn`t have been licensed to be reissued. So it should be dropped really from playlists and make space for new and far more enjoyable stuff IMO. Marc
  14. Can`t be bothered to read all 18 pages now but will only add that the HIP CITY SOUL CLUB of course is o.v.o. as are most (95%) of the German Soulnights and Weekenders (well at least all are that I had the pleasure to deejay at/for so far). As are all Spanish, Norwegian and Swedish venues I have visited so far. Loads of DJ`s around playing boots and stuff though....but not that the "scene" - buddies really do care about them at all anyway. Marc

I know one of the high bidders (2nd or third if I remember correctly) and he hasn`t been offered a copy. If Brad says he only has had those two copies that is fair enough and "assurance" enough for me. He is reliable and most of all an experienced dealer...so he easily can detect what would do harm to his reputation and sure would avoid misleading descriptions for that matter. On the other hand if I look at Jackie Day/Phelelectron, Troy Dodds/El Camino and Cautions/Shrine to name just and only three I don`t think a quantity of under 100 would affect the price in any way in the long run. In the end its all down to the fact and way these would get sold over the time. The way the Four Tracks and Clara Hardy´s have been and still continue to get sold sure is the wrong way if you want tokeep demand steady and the price constant. Brad is the first to know that. So if he offers the next copy now so quick he sure hasn`t got another pile waiting under his bed... Marc
  16. WOW and I thought my Del-Tours was already a bit dear...so who said there`s a credit crunch ?
  17. 150 UKP and rising...
  18. Fantastic tune, Andy Dyson and myself and I think Punky up in Gothenburg are behind playing it since last year. I had a very small bunch which I very quickly was deliberated from earlier this year. Quality Soul. Marc
  19. Than try me
  20. Well, for a so-called "Dirty Northern" track (leaving R&B and 7ts aside) it does not only to have be gritty, I am sure most will agree that the lyrics also have to be at least say "tasty"...if not already explicit. So with that in mind I`ll open my box and play you Little Stanley Outasight Loving Dewey Black Takin Love Where I Find It Don Gardner Tighten Up Your Love Bone Lee Shot Williams Love You Now Pay Later Lee Rogers Sock Some Love Power ..box closed. Over to you
  21. One of the most reliable sellers on ebay, and a fantastic guy as well. Would always stand up for him. It sure isn`t easy for him to sell these items out of his private collection which he needs to do just because of that **** fire which destroyed his shop. To find a Lester Tipton in nearly unplayed condition is as rare as to walk into a Porsche shop and find there an untouched 356.... I had to wait and look 23 years for mine to finally come along and its not untouched (Lester that is not a 356). Marc

Oh and somebody please buy this great gem of a record...stunning deep ballad !
  23. Bearing in mind the few copies around in DJ hands (Mick H, Martin, myself and maybe only a few others) the price on Charles Holiday really was a very good price. The Blue Jays, well I sold mine two years ago for significantly less in mint condition. Not to mention the very first copy I sold 1995

Think you will find that the Deep Soul afficiniados were aware of this beauty long before the Northern boys However, for me both sides are a winner and I have pushed the Northern side for alomost three years now. I once collected this Rockin Sidney owned label but must say beside this and Joe Walker I did not find anything equally good. Marc
  25. Everybody who goes to the Hip City Soul Club Berlin...regulary
