    Would think so
  2. Coul very very well be the case Tony
  3. now it really gets a bit confusing...anyone kept counting all the different copies of different mixes ?
  4. Who played that beauty first and under which disguising name by the way ? The copy I am playing since last year (and loving big style!!) still shows the old C/UP marks... Marc NB think JM auction result for this was quite cheap by the way

Seem to remember that was Dutch only to be found (twice) in Germany ? Marc
  6. Over the years I have found three Demo copies of that here in berlin...sold them all but obviously way too cheap. Marc

Maybe two or three...I would rate it as rare as Wilson pickett, Metros etc.
  8. Positively thinking and speaking the answer will be "yes" then...with a slight footnote that there could be another one or two somewhere Marc
  9. I thought you said you bought it off Pete S for 500 UKP ?? Micks was I understand one of the aforementioned three or so copies.. Marc
  10. there were about three or four (?) before doing the rounds. Didn´t know Pete had more then one -he could have let me h ve one then ;-)!- but however, I understand they had not the same source as the first bunch. Marc
  11. Well, so you outbid me then back in the day (I was short under 500 UKP) LOL ! Yes, I was thinking it might go for a bitmore seeing that its on JM´s but three times the price...and its not even a one-or two off...WOW. Marc
  12. wow...is this not the very same tune that Pete S was selling along other unrel. tunes last here on ss ? If so, its not a one off and about a handful of copies around ? if so yes then this surely is a quite dear price ? Marc

No, they were pressed in Germany for the German public to enjoy and buy. The members of the forces had their own shops were they bought their own US produced stuff (was much cheaper compared to be buying in German stores). German Atlantic did release an awful lot of stuff. Sadly theres no discography for it, also not for German Decca, London and CBS and a lot of others...I bet there are still treasuries waiting to be discovered. The rarest German releases (all with pic covers) so far in my book are Lollipops Marvin Gaye (sings in German) Four Tops (sing in German) Melvin London TSU Toronados ..from the top of my head and of to be added and corrected ;-) Wilson Pickett "Baby Don`t You Weep" and Metros "Since I Found My Baby" are also dear but not as rare as the above Marc

Blimey...you never stop learning new things! In all my 25 years of collecting here in Berlin I have NEVER EVER seen this release. Its unbelievable to see what has been released here. Just a few months ago a fellow Soul Source posted the scan of a german rel. of the Lollipops "Love Is the Only Answer" and now oyu come with your TSU Toronados! fantastic. Marc

Yes, definitely one hell of a great tune!
  16. As with these acetates you can never be sure wether there is not already a small area where the vinyl has lost its contact with the metal I would never ever wash any acetate...the risk that some water gets between the vinyl and the metal is just too big to take IMHO. Once the the process of the vinyl loosing contact with the metal has started there is nth to stop it..
  17. Think that this is exactly all what Pikeys Dog was trying to express with his review, a different taste on certain tunes (only by the way..). But from the essence of what you just said I understand your point of view seems to be in reality quite similar to mine. Marc

Anorther one that used to come via John Powney...like so many.
  19. Think you can`t really disqualify members (people) by classifying other (member)s as being more broad minded only because they cherish certain tunes more or even regard them as classics whereas others do not. IMO Marc
  20. Not THAAAAT many copies around, are there ? Anyway, people should play the flipside more often anyway ;-) Marc
  21. Cheers Ted, yes Carl and Gary got even their business name (Out-A-Site) from this tune. So with your "confirmation" we can safeley say that the Kodell version is (slightly?) rarer, thanks everybody for clearing this up. Marc
  22. Hi Chalky, got both versions at home but sadly no scanner..will try to get them for you scanned though during the week (...and before I have made up my mind which to keep...as times are hard one needs to go LOL!) Marc
  23. Hi Ted, so you say the faster version (Kodell) is rarer then the slower one (Cameo-Parkway) ..?..just wanting to clarify as Chalky had them the other way round with Kodell being the slower version. TIA Marc
  24. The other way around Chalky, the so-called slower version is the Cameo-Parkway Publishing Company one. Kodell is the faster one which towards the end kinda "falls down" iof you know what I mean. Marc
  25. Thanks for that, any opinion on Sonny Fishback ? Marc
