  1. I understand Pete, only half serious, just very interested to know what Ian is going to drop at the world famous 100 Club Allnighter......you would think he will have some pretty serious kit in the box, especially as he is playing along side the un retired Butch. Russ
  2. Will be interesting thats for sure........would love to know what you have been selling Ian, Pete......customer confidentiality & all that, but maybe just a lil sneak prevue ? Russ
  3. Ma - F*ckin - Hoosive tune, Butch played this at the 100 Club few years ago & it sounds awesome out loud, been looking for a copy ever since - feel free to contact me if you have one knockin about. Best Russ
  4. What a shame Bob, what we are talking about are records that could become popular at dances, a totally different thing to records you may have added to the collection. Huge respect for you Bob, but nice soulful cheapies can be a different beast to dancefloor killers. I'm sure you must have hundreds of discs in this category & I for one would be extremely interested in choices you would make.......so how about some positive input to the thread, you are someone we all look to for good soulful, positive contributions on SS, some times the only sane voice , so c'mon Bob lets hear your opinion on an unknown dancer with rareity not the main criteria of course. Best Russ
  5. I would also nominate Emmit Long - Call Me, which seems to have had a few revived plays towards the end of last year, first played 15 odd years ago, but reaching a whole new audience now.... Best Russ
  6. Thank you - I really hope it gets more exposure, has huge potential & I love everything about it.....went down down very well at 'Filthy Soul' last week, alongside Scott Three, which is another quality dancer which could do with a bit more of a push this year. Best Russ
  7. Sugar Boy & the Shades of Black - Free Man - Shades Sublime dance floor crossover, that will surely gain more exposure this year. Happy New Year Best Russ
  8. I went to see this not expecting very much at all & came away uplifed. A fantastic production which touched my heart, & made all the better for my initial misgivings. I would deffo go & see the original play again if it were to tour. Thank you Paul, your play reminded me of just what it is/was all about..... Russ
  9. Try & keep your remarks constructive buddy, Elaine is my friend & whilst I have reservations about films like Soulboy, Elaine has/is on a labour of love, so whilst your entitled to voice your opinions 'prefabricated Piece of sh*t ' is a very poor choice of words. Best Russ
  10. Again, the hairs on the back of my neck went up watching the 'teaser' & the interview is brilliant.....if anyone can do 'this thing of ours' justice in the format of a movie it is Elaine....I cant wait to see the finished movie & I look forward to it immensely........now can I get VIP tickets to the premier !!! Keep at it Elaine & team Best Russ
  11. The Legend lives on.........& dont forget, the 100 Club aint just for Anniversaries its for life . Wish I was back at home for this . Best Russ
  12. Cant believe I'll be in the frickin' desert still - one of the best Nighters ever when Ady dropped the first batch of unissued RCA stuff in a oner at the 100 Club, place was electric.......I'm sure the PP stuff will do the very same at this years Anniversay, I'll be thinkin of y'all ya lucky b'stards.....any spare anniversary 45's folks let me be the first to say I'll pay the market price, what ever that might be for ya spare the next day...... Kudos Ady Best Russ
  13. Right I will stick my neck out & tell ya now, if anyone can do NS justice within the context of a movie then its Elaine......she will go the extra yard & has/does live the life, she 'gets it' & you better believe it........I cant wait for this to come out, the lengths Elaine has gone to, to ensure the credibility of this movie are incredible, the difference between this & Soulboy will be like comparing Footsee to the Mellow Souls........every time I see the footage of the dancers, the hairs on the back of my neck go up.....just looks right to me, the fact these folk are diggin' it shows.......go Elaine !!! Best Russ
  14. Totally unnessary & irelevent, save it for another thread. Get well soon Belita. Russ
  15. Roger Banks was playing 'Cry Myself to Sleep' in NS rooms 15 years ago at least to critical aclaim. I have been playing out 'Giving Up My Heartaches' for some years too, an amazing LP, one of my all time faves & the 45 is a welcome bonus, as Sean says nice un loud !. Best Russ
  16. lol Russ
  17. Some stunning tunes posted, but one disc that will definitley without a shadow of a doubt reach a wider audience this year & will become a stone cold Northern Soul classic is the magnificent SIR JOE a truly monstrous record - Mr Thorley - take a bow - its people like Dave (& others) who NEVER stop diggin' that we can thank for us still hearing newly discovered quality NS on our dance floors, thank the lord !!! If Sir Joe doesnt reach legendary proportions this year my cocks a kipper........... Russ
  18. Here's a some from moi that could or deserve some or more plays. Sugar Boy & the Shades of Black - Free Man Nu Luv - So Much to Talk About Vanguards - Gotta Have Love Blues Busters - Ohh Baby Best Russ
