  1. There are too many venues if you you want to take them all in in a month. Depends where you live and how far you want to travel and what music you want to listen/dance to. 30 mile circle of manchester would probably take a year to visit all soul venues, soul nites, niters, pub nites. Luckily they vary in styles, mainly oldies but with the likes of the greatstone, nags head, lowton, twisted wheel, soul or nothing, middleton, to name a few its all here if you want it. The country is awash with soul nites, niters, & now weekenders, being a soul freak has never been so good, or has it? Unfortunatley I can't make as many as I would like to.
  2. anyone send me a scan of 'The Showmen - Our Love Will Grow' Cheers very much Andy

  4. The clubs I remember going to in the late 70's early 80's are the ones mentioned. Adri, Carousel, Bellvue, the Italian place (been trying to think of that place for years and years) the SNOBS club, was it on deansgate?, Ritz, blue rooms. As I got into the soul scene in the late 70's I couldn't get enough, thought it was just amazing that you could go out without any hassle from anyone and the music was, well, music to me ears. Fond memories
  5. Yep, great allniter. Enjoyed everything about the place and at the time a head of its self and was the best. Went to hyde a few times but as mark says didnt really take off. Was it really 17 years ago!!!!!!!!!! Jesus, don't time fly when you have fun
  6. Cheers boys
  7. benn on TV (bbc4 mainly early hours) about half a dozen times over the last 18months or so. saw this on video (remember them) a few years back after it had been done. A cracking short film that is really tongue in cheel stuff. The highlight for me is the whizzed up guy
  8. Cheers Chalky. Its for a mate who's doing the project so I'll pass it on. Cheers
  9. I am hoping you could possibly help. I am after a high res image of the Northern Soul - Keep the Faith / fist badge. I can find scans of the patch on the web but these aren't precise enough for the graphical work I'm doing (or I should say; was doing). Cheers
  10. I too love this record. I have fond memories of the casino and if I was to pick just one record that reminded me of the place, this would be it. Don't know why as Bobby Paris - walked away is another casino fave (along with the other 1000) Good luck with the book Mark
  11. blimey, I remember the niters here and at bell-vue (dayers) what about the Ardri and snobs on deansgate I think. Good days
