SKYBOLT REUNION
Boogaloo, latino...the genre embraced as with others, early 80's by TOTW and other, by then forward thinking venues regards a change of playlists away from a one dimensional formula....this is one of the finest examples....it most certainly wouldve fitted into the hipsters dancefloor routine some 13/14 years earlier...had it been around....it got there in the end!

SKYBOLT REUNION
Completely forgotten, amazingly tucked away as the B side to her worldwide hit " First Cut " but what a tune...only in recent years spun on the Northern scene, but fits right into the Mod ethic....and HOW GOOD is this Lady Of Soul?βοΈβοΈβοΈβοΈβοΈ

SKYBOLT REUNION
An easy decision for scooterists as you can park outside the facility in its sliproad. Alternatively, for those on 4 wheels, there is limited parking next door to the Town hall and, less than a 5 minute walk to the Asda car park which, i assume, is not gated off after midnight.

SKYBOLT REUNION
' DARLO ' Town Hall, really needs no introduction, having hosted Soul nights/events since at least the 70's, and in trutn..probably has had a musical theatrical heritage dating back to the 19th century, being an easily identifiable imposing red brick Victorian structure. Regular thursday night teenage discos were established here, around 1975, courtesy of two west midland mobile djs of note: Dave Dallas and Neil Mitchell who always attracted large crowds at municipal function of which, this was one. The latter part of the decade and the beginning of the 80's saw the mod element added to the playlist format...though principally soul music, as wouldve been played at the Twisted Wheel for instance. The venue has a well preserved and polished sprung dancefloor, with a capacity of several 100, to the rear the premises features a seated balcony...to the front, a high set stage. There is a small carpark adjacent to the building but after 6pm parrkng ( Asda ) is a short walk from the venue. Security will be in place for this event and admission on the door is available in the absence of pre booked tickets.

Dwindling wildlife...............
Thats a staggering revelation. I firmly believe in Einstien's theory, this only adds to the urgency the human race is going to find itself facing, maybe not in our generation's lifetime....but it could quite easily be sooner than we think. The bee population is the biggest equation, man's existance is dependant on the insects survival....without it we don't exist.

Bloody greys are a goddamn infernal nuisance...digging in the planters n pots. We've a couple of sun flowers just now, as has next door but the little vermin will have the heads off em soon. You're right about the size of queen wasps, saw one a few weeks ago, untangling itsrlf from a spiders web....poor spider was probably petrified!

Joey Dee And The New Starlighters β How Can I Forget
Can't say i remember hearing it 75....deffo 76 though..our necknof the woods West Mids, Wulfrun & Civic Hall soul nights, Wolvo for sure...Pep would definitely have been playing it...it wouldn't be unlike Sam playing it, even if it was the instrumental and not the vocal as, he played backing tracks same as any other jock " Soul Step " The Dogs was another white artist track he played....that wouldve been 77/8ish maybe.

I heard Soul Sam play it frequently, mid 70's did it not get attention at Cleethorpes as well?, around same time as stuff like Emanons Band " Bird Walking "

Dwindling wildlife...............
Wow!, been here a while according to that, sparse initially but theyve been getting a foothold...on the whole the battle front against them aplears to be the south east of the country though there have been occasions elswhere, were nests have located and eliminated....as its been stated before its not about being directly a threat to us, but to the bee populations.

Dwindling wildlife...............
I think hornets have always been prevalent in the borders/mid wales, but naturalised colonies, not this threat thats coming from abroad so, dinstinction between the two species would interesting e.g. size, colour and what sort of habitat if anything specific....theyre obviously large than honey bees and i bet our native wasp, the latter queens are quite big, so, if theyre anywhere near that theyre going to need to be avoided at all costs and reported if sighted anywhere. I assume there have always been hornet colonies in most southern counties anyway, because if the warmer climate.

Dwindling wildlife...............
Peter, There used to be a colony of wallabees in Leek, Staffordshire, that lived on the moors above the town?, been there and its a pretty well known story about them...also features on the town's coat of arms i think. Deffo unusual that though, in a city a city suburb...but then you wouldn't be surprised to see deer....or even goats, as with those in llandudno!
