Acroos the board music policy as always from RUSS AND MARK, plus....guest, STU PITT, who has a quality selection of tunes...all in all something played by all djs guaranteed to get you on the floor. The weekend will be upon us before we know it, and the festive spirit is revving up for the weekend!, A Saturday night out at The Church of Kool is no different...tons of stuff on and amidst all the choice, Shrewsbury's capital event stands alone as the venue to be at in this county, its the last event of 2023, and the Christmas sermon really is one of the very best, for atmosphere, music and dancing. Just £5 admission which is spot on, a more than fair rate for the season of good cheer!. We're likely to see more than a few travellers and first timers who want to see and hear just what this function is all about....16 years in the making cant be wrong!😉👍👍👍👏👏👏👏 Russ and Mark are proper experienced djs who know what it takes to get the dancefloor moving and always looking to get some of the best guests from Shropshire and the west mids on this gig... All in all, a fabulous night, hall decked out ready to go🎅🌲🎉🎊, lots of views on this, get your transport into gear and come and join us....early doors is best!, seats and floor space at a premium......what the CHURCH is all about!❤️😉👍🎵💃🕺🎶

Anyone travelling in by car, in the main, this venue is 5 mins from Shrewsbury Town Centre, situated just off the A5191. Anyone coming in from either the A49 or A53, will connect to this road via the A5112, from a North easterly direction. From the east the destination is reached via M54/A5, then onto London Road. From the West and South, A49, then A5112 through Meole Brace, connecting to A5191. As its Christmas, the Town will be busy and vibrant. If youre considering a stopover, there are hotels conveniently situated with 5 to 10 mins of the venue ( Travelodge - Bayston Hill & Battlefield, Premier Inn Severnside and Holiday Inn, Emstree ) plus a host of air bnbs and pubs with accommodation. Check online for special rates/discounts. This town is definitely worth spending a weekend in, so much to see and do and, a huge Artisan/farmers Christmas Market in the Town Square on both Friday 15th/Saturday 16th....plus great restaurants, cafes and shops. 🎅🌲☃️❄️🎊🎶😉👍🎵💃🕺🎶🍺🍺🍺😉👍

These two fine lads have been promoting this ace venue for 16 years!, thats pretty cool in Shropshire history!!😉👍👏👏👏👏⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Russ and Mark always play to the floor, across the board music and always plenty of ' forgotten ' oldies and club classics. And always well supported by a loyal local crowd, laced with a good many travellers from all over, literally!. The Capital of Shropshire and an absolute capitol idea to come and pay this ' best kept secret ' a visit....and get Christmas off to a cracker of a start!🎵💃🕺🎶🌲🎅☃️❄️🎉🎊🍺🍺🍺😉👍

First time i ever met Andy was in the Merry England, Blackpool North Pier on the occasion of the 1st Togetherness weekender in the Tower, 2006. He certainly loved to play across the board and his knowledge has borne that out....what an utterly devasting piece of news to view...Andy was part of ' the furniture ' on here and well respected by so many. Sincere condolences to all his family and close friends. Rest In Peace.

December's guest dj is a regular visitor and a very popular dj around shropshire and the west mids, the latter being where STEVE CHURCH holds a residency at the BRADMORE CLUB, in Wolverhampton. Steve has an eclectic selection of tunes in his box and knows how to mix and match to a high standard...so...expect some quality dancefloor fireworks from this TOP bloke!😉👍🎵💃🕺🎶⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️👏👏👏

Have to agree completely with that analogy Chalky....same for me too, probably 97...really took off for me big style when Prestwich happened, then Brighouse Ritz and Lowton Civic...the All nighters followed with Manchester Ritz, Kings Hall Stoke and even managed Winsford twice and the legendary Tony's Empress once!.....oh....and then of course there's the little matter of the Lea Manor....thats where all this unknown ( well, stafford orientated ) stuff came home to me....broadened the horizons and outlook. Its seems some folk probably werent even aware of the Antellects until recent years as well?

Thee Christmas party special!, last date of 2023, dates for 24 already booked, details on here soon!. In the meantime, its Shropshire doing soul the finest way at yuletide with special guest STEVE CHURCH, always a welcome visitor with a goodly supply of both modern crossover and 60's tunes...very eclectic, something for everyone plus...the regular mix from resident djs RUSS & MARK. Great atmosphere, friendly faces, superb dancefloor and venue, competitive bar prices and ample parking space!. As always, directions pretty straight forward and easy to satnav.

Actually.....thats ironic isnt it because.....a lot of folk came back to the scene mid to late 90's and probably wouldnt have heard these tunes either.... still expecting for their ears to prick up to the oldies they were familiar with....definitely a shift in playlists, a continuation of the Stafford process

Yes, i think you're right regards Ginger, i'll ask him when i see him...but you're right😉👍 hmmm....10 years, long time to have something like thaat before it went big but, then again no surprise from a collectors point of view...loads never djed originally, just amassed stuff that the majority maybe never heard or saw Honestly wouldnt have been aware of that, but great to set timelines straight, it was around a lot longer than most folk wouldve known😉👍

Chalky, 20 years...if it was longer i wouldve been surprised but like ive posted after this response, heard Shity play it, then Butch....it wouldnt be unusual if Mark had something like that in his collection for a lot longer as is his trademark, he trickles them out...but Alan turned up in Manchester eith it and like, blew everybody away....it didnt take long for Ginger to scout a copy...and i wouldnt be entirely sure about this but he may have bought it off Shifty in the process?

On possibly the one occasion Shifty played the Manchester Ritz Bank Holiday All Nighter, he played " Love Slave " first time i heard it so, thats in the last 20+ years ( probably 2002/3 ) Obviously not aware that it may already have been in Butch's playlist at the time...just then....but, deffo in his playlist at the Lea Manor Hotel " end of an era " All Nighter in 2002, as i compiled the entire playlist for that 10 hour session....still on display on Dave Rimmer's Soulful Kinda Music website.....

Valid point...probably as much a reason as why the real dancers, who do go there....and there probably are quite a few, en large dont bother jumping in....i wasnt impressed with the final 3, pretty flat, and this has been the case for a good few years now.

A well known name on the scene for sure Julian, before i saw or heard of Jethro and co, there was a guy who went to the Torch who attended the pub i mentioned called, Jerry Stack, never met him but was informed he was a top dancer, dont know if you heard of him at all?
